Your brain may need a post-Thanksgiving jump start, so here’s a new Brain Game Math Square to get you going for the week.
The nine squares inside the main red grid should be filled with the digits 1 through 9. Each digit should appear only once in the mail grid. One of these numbers (the 9) is already provided for you. Place the other digits in the correct spots so that the mathematical equations work both across and down. Remember your algebraic rules when solving the problems… multiplication and division should be solved first, then addition and subtraction. Good luck!

Not sure why, but I whipped right through this one. The instructions should say that the 9 is provided, not the 2. I like it. Keep them coming.
SANDY’S NOTE: Thanks for the heads up, Nick… I’ve corrected the instructions to refer to the “2″ instead of the “9.”

I think it’s because there’s only one solution (utilizing the 9) which can be figured out right away. It cant be 5 x 9 + whatever because that’s already more than 42 (and therefore it’s not 9 x anything larger than 5) and it can’t be 3 x 9 + whatever because there isn’t a large enough digit to add to 27 to get to 42, hence you’re left with 4 x 9 + 6 = 42

That seemed really easy this time around….I liked it, lol. I started with the 28, and guessed that I was going to divide by 2. So then it would have been 7 and 8 in the other squares, and somehow I managed to put them in the correct spots right off the bat. Thanks Sandy!
