I once saw a thing on TV which mentioned some scratchings on a rock (someplace out east -- New England? North Carolina?) which a scholar claimed had to be Ogham, an ancient form of writing used in the British Isles.

another interesting artifact that seems out of place was found a few years ago at Jamestown. they uncovered a 1st century b.c. roman oil lamp. the archaeologists there assume it was brought over by one of the early english gentlemen settlers in the 17th c. who was also interested in antiquities.

I suggest World Mysteries.com http://www.world-mysteries.com/sar_5.htm full of fun and interesting articles and conspiracies. I love a good ancient conspiracy theory. Some of these can be explained logically by trading or even natural phenomena but one can always wonder about the others. It irritates me that we assume that ancient people 'couldn't do or didn't do." Who is to say that they couldn't or didn't have the means to do something. Just because we look at things from a modern perspective doesn't meant that people with the same general intelligence and capabilities as us couldn't do extraordinary things.

My friend found an old coin that seems to be Greek or Roman. It looks like its made of iron and has a picture that appears to be Neptune or Posiedon because there is a man holding a trident.
She found it in her backyard in the middle of Kansas.

Lookit this way: Of the tens of thousands of ancient statuettes in Mexico, isn't there actually a pretty good chance that one of them would look Roman through sheer coincidence?

I remember reading about this last year. It's really interesting, a Swiss watch found in a 400 year old tomb in China;

This fits great in your list!

This article more then defines why we search in the past... who knows what secrets will be found?

At any rate, I've heard of ancient caves somewhere in the New England states that are purported to have housed Irish monks due to the carvings inside. Slightly ridiculous explanation, but the proper one would be intriguing to know.

Another thing- has there ever been confirmed evidence of two Welsh princes making it to America before Columbus?

The Sphynx is now thought to have originally been a lion. The human head is believed to be carved from the original head of the lion since it is proportionately smaller than the body, would fit into an anatomically correct lion's head and is too upright on the body. Nobody knows who's head it is suppose to be though.
