Ok I think Camas, Washington has the WORST high school mascot. The Camas Papermakers. And the mascot is like a creepy old printer..i think that is the worst.

A friend’s high school was the Boiling Springs Bubblers in Boiling Springs, PA. My sister goes to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology- they are the Colonials.

In Moorhead, MN, the old teachers college nickname was “The Fightin’ Peds” (as in pedagogue–a big word for teacher). Then the school burnt down. They rebuilt; now we’re known as the dragons.

Good thing too; we play the cross-town Concordia Cobbers (whose mascot is a piece of corn), every year.

All of the pre-game t-shirts depict popcorn.

This kind of is related to weird mascots, but not necessarily. Overused names are what I hate. I like the original strange stuff, but when 3 of the 4 local high schools are birds (skyhawks, eagles, golden eagles) its too much.

The Fairbury Jeffs are called such because the town is in Jefferson County, Nebraska. The Mascot “Jeff” is from the cartoon “Mutt and Jeff”.
