I actually have my degree in Thanatology from Kings College (part of UWO) in Ontario Canada. it is the biggest “death” related program and widely respected. It was probably the most interesting program I could ever dream of (I also have an English degree)

Homeland security degrees are getting more popular. My major is environmental science, so I’ve taken tons of anti-terrorism and wmd classes……interesting stuff.

Theres an Appalachian Studies at my school (Shepherd Uniiversity). Theres also a Woman’s Studies and Civil War programs here.

I think I’ll stick with my MBA. I still don’t know what I want to be when I “grow up” so the broad focus of my current Master’s program is probably better for me than a degree in thanatology.

ALSO – regarding the “Wood & Paper Science, North Carolina State” – my favorite NC-woodism is the welcome area from SC into NC up near Asheville, there’s a whole wood display and brochures/books written about “reverence for wood”. Amazing.

I have a Recreation Management Master’s degree from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, with a concentration in Leisure Studies. It’s actually pretty common and most recreation agencies expect it nowadays.

A friend of mine has attended classes in puppetry at UConn. They’re really not a walk in the park according to him (but fun if that’s what you’re into) and he has a BFA from RISD.

I did not think it odd until I got to Appalachian Studies, but…

My alma mater, University of Nevada, Reno, is very proud of their Basque Studies program; you can earn a Minor, Masters or PhD. The Basque Library is considered the best outside of Basque country in Europe.

You may have guessed that Northern Nevada has a very influential Basque population.
