Thanks Steve! I wish George Seifert put out a "hey guys, come on, I'm the coach now" response rap.

While searching for Walsh's exact departure date, I read that George Seifert was en route to Cleveland to interview for the Browns job when he was tapped as Walsh's successor. He canceled his meeting and flew right back. Bud Carson ended up replacing Marty Schottenheimer in Cleveland, who stepped down after the 1988 season, too.

Time to scour eBay for Zubaz. Last minute gag gifts.

That 49ers rap was recorded sometime during or before the 1989 season (the season the 49ers won Super Bowl XXIV. Jerry Rice talks about making the video in an Episode of "America's Game" (which cronicles each super bowl winning team's seson). So that year, they won their 4th super bowl of the 1980's. So when the made the video, they had already won 3 super bowls in the 80's (XVI, XIX, and XXIII) by that time, which was more than anyone else. So it's not presumptive to call them the team of the 80's in 1989. This doesn't explain why Bill Walsh is still in it, other than he still had ties to the orginaztion (even though he wasn't the coach anymore).
