Say what you will about Charles Dickens (and I had some choice words for him during my second reading of “A Tale of Two Cities” in high school), but the man could name a character. Through puns, clever references or just plain nonsense syllables, Dickens made sure even his supporting characters were memorable, if only for their monikers. Almost nobody can match his naming abilities, except for the best (or is it worst) romance novelists. Of the 20 unusual names on this list, can you identify them as a Dickens character or romance novel hottie?

  1. 65%
not too bad considering the only one I didn’t guess on was Noah Claypole

  2. 80% – and I don’t read either one!

  3. I am SHOCKED by this: 95%. I guess my (now abandoned) crappy romance novel habit pays off… in this one single instance.

    (reCaptcha: for craniums. Ha!)
