You can do your own taxes, make your own paper
, make your own mud oven,
and when you’re ready to relax (and if we inspired you), why not make your own crossword puzzle? Do it in honor of Mr. Arthur Wynne, the man we’ll be celebrating on December 21, 2013 to mark the 100th anniversary of the very first crossword puzzle, which you can view and tackle here.
& if Wynne’s puzzle makes you want to add some extra torque to your own, this aide might come in handy when your friends can’t jump through all your arcane hoops…
Thanks for the crossword. What do you think the changing form of the crossword — in its original, a diamond, now, more square and with more dark space — means about the growth or regression of the human mind?

Great question. I think it means we’ve ascended–that we’re no longer curious about the world in the same ways, that we’re heading towards isolationist policies, existentially & otherwise.
