Anyone ever watch Pee Wee’s Playhouse? Pee Wee had a giant foil ball and added to it nearly every episode–the foil ball was switched to a giant rubber band ball in later seasons.

My home city, Reno, NV, has to large spherical landmarks that are close to each other. One is the Silver Legacy Hotel/Casino. The other is the National bowling stadium.

I keep telling people that we should change the city motto to, “Reno – the city with balls.” It has not caught on yet.

Ok, is it just me or does everyone who ever looks at the rubber band ball have the irrational urge to push it off the highest building you can find?

I vote that we bring it to Canada and set it free from the top of the CN Tower…

Every summer as a child my family traveled from Iowa to Minnesota and had our picture taken by the big ball of twine. We could track our growth by the yearly photos!!

Based on the height of the kids, and based on the height of the guy, I’d say it IS 5′6″, because I am about the same height.

Also, love the fact that Americans HAVE to put brandnames on everything for money!

The rubber-band ball in that pic is NOT 5′6″ as stated… maybe it’s gotten bigger since the pic was taken, or maybe the cam angle is screwy, but by my judgement it’s more like 4.5-5 feet, tops.
