Want to help the Red Cross’ Haiti earthquake fund, but can’t afford to donate money? Then consider donating your used or broken old cell phones to Phones for Haiti. Even if you don’t have any old cell phones, but have a phone battery, charger or accessory, these can all be donated to the program.
Just get a free shipping label from the website and send them your phone or phone accessories. The program will then send the working phones with phone charges to Haiti so earthquake victims can call their loved ones around the world. Broken phones and phone accessories will be recycled and the money earned through the program will be given to the Red Cross to support relief efforts in the country.
It’s good for the environment and great for the victims of the earthquake.

I have had an old AT&T charger forever that I haven’t known what to do with. Now I do!

Thanks for the great idea!
FYI, the link from “this website” in your article was broken, as it looks like it should end in DonateUsedPhones.html instead of recycleUsedPhones.html

JD, I fixed it, the site seems to have changed their link because I just used it yesterday.

My husband and I recently upgraded our phones, so now we have somewhere to donate our old ones! Thanks for the info!

That is the same model cell phone that I had and that is the same way it broke, too. Let me go find it and get it out to good use…

Thank you so much for publishing this. I have been feeling like crap because I’m on unemployment and broke and have been feeling bad about not being able to donate any $ to the cause. At least now I can contribute in some way. Thanks again.
