I have been in touch with CalTrans and they say they do not maintain this grave site. Talked with several officials.

it’s sad, and shocking to modern people, to visit graveyards and find 4, 5, 6 or even more children who die in the same year, presumably from the same illness.

Seems like that story should be placed somewhere near the gravesite for the curious who stop to look.

that’s the kind of stuff i love to find on roadtrips across the country.

I’ve actually found little places like that right here in my neck of the prairie I.E: Iowa. It’s facinating to cme across something that you don’t know if your the only one to notice it.

That’s such a sad, sweet story. Very nice that someone has kept the story alive and that the government has honored the site.
