The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien — Two Weeks Later

It’s been two weeks since Conan’s final Tonight Show. On the off chance you’re wondering what’s become of that big empty studio, former Tonight Show blogger Aaron Bleyaert took some depressing photos on Friday and posted them on his site—here and here.

The place is crying out for Ransom Riggs to give it the Strange Geographies treatment.

  1. That’s so sad. :-(
I miss Conan already… I really hope he has a new show in September when he’s allowed to come back to television.

  2. Such a shame. It really was a beautiful set.

  3. I think I’m going to cry. I hope he goes to Comedy Central, he would be perfect matched with Stewart and Colbert.

  4. On one of the final shows, they had Jack McBrayer on as Kenneth the Page, which they also used to do on the Late Night show, giving a tour of the studio during the monologue. He offered this fun fact to the tour: NBC spent more time building this studio than using it. Pretty funny and sad.

By the way, I know Conan can’t have a show until September, but I assume he’s allowed to give interviews, right? I thought he would be a guest on Letterman in no time. Maybe he needs to decompress a bit. Or maybe he’ll be on March 1st, the day Leno comes back on air. Seems logical.

  5. Arcadia,

I totally agree with you. I’m just not sure how they would handle the timing. Would Conan mind doing a midnight show? Would Stewart and Colbert change time slots? I hope they could make it work.

The best thing to come out of the writer’s strike was the “feud” those 3 guys had. That was hilarious. I used to come home from work real late at that time and that would make my day.
