I have the Tocky alarm clock! Its smaller than the Clocky alarm clock but it does the job! I love how you can put different color skins on it and your own music. Best alarm clock. Ever. :) <3

I would love to have a Clocky!
But, since I don't have one I rely mostly on my father. My room is quite close to my parents room, so when my mother's alarm goes off I sometimes hear but not always. But that's alright, because after she hits snooze once and it begins to LOUDLY beep again, my father wakes up and yells "Turn that obnoxious thing off, I'm up already!"...or some variation! Right on time, every time! And it never fails to wake me right up!

And the thought just occurred to me that a Clocky would be the best gift for my dad, I could see him now just stomping around his room yelling, looking for the 'obnoxious thing', bahaha.

I have this really cool alarm clock that I got for Christmas. It's named Moshi (no, I didn't name it) and is voice triggered. You start by saying "hello moshi" it will then say, in a some how soothing, automated female voice, " hello. command please." too which you can respond any of multiple commands. It's really awesome, but makes me quite lazy to the point where I'd rather talk to it then actually look up. I have also had the embarrassing experience of saying "hello moshi" while in public, only to remember that not everyone has a voice triggered alarm clock named moshi. There is also the issue of me yelling at it in the mornings, and turning of the alarm without waking up, just by saying "turn off the alarm" Over all though, love it dearly and it feels almost intelligent.

I have a rubix cube alarm clock. You turn it to also reveal the current time, the temperature, and the date. I always like that when I look at it in the morning the screen tells me to 'Have a good day!'

I also had a pokemon watch as a kid that you could set an alarm on. It was Ash informing me to 'Wake up, time to catch some pokemon!' until I pushed stop.

You've totally missed the best alarm clock of all - Matty Sallin's 'Wake and Bacon' alarm clock. It cooks you a piece of bacon as a wake up call, tempting you awake with the wafting scent of sizzling pig fat. GENIUS.

Check it out here: http://themorningfresh.com/2010/07/03/mmm-bacon/

Okay, seriously, I read mental_floss ALL the time, and here I am, browsing through tabs, and this was in here. I started to feel paranoid - I hadn't been browsing the website. Was my computer trying to tell me something? I mean, yes, I'm difficult to get out of bed, but really...

Then I realized I'd hit the "Stumble!" button by accident. Whew.

My alarm clock is my cell phone, with my voice yelling at me: "Its time to wake up! Its time to wake up! Wake up! Wake up! WAKE UP!" on an increasing volume.

It gets me out of bed pretty quick.

I used to build elaborate obstacle courses between my bed and the alarm clock. Set up diagonal poles, strung up blankets and cords, put tripwires and strings with a bunch of tin cans tied on them, etc.

Worked great for a few days, but it was never more than a week until I was climbing, ducking, jumping, and crawling through to the alarm clock and back to bed without even opening my eyes, noticing the noise, or gaining any consciousness.
