On Music: Rock Ballad Quiz
by David K. Israel - March 15, 2007 - 12:15 PM

quiz.jpgSorry for all the technical difficulties with the quiz yesterday, folks. Our gurus are still working out some of the bugs in this cool, new quiz tool. It seems to be on surer footing today, so I’m reposting now… for all the mice in the house.

Lest you think this feature is only about classical music, test your knowledge of cheesy rock ballads by taking our first name that tune quiz! (Be sure to have your speakers on, and some tissues nearby.)

  1. Rock on! 100%! I really know my cheesy rock ballads.

  2. Had a great time with this quiz. Hope it’ll be a recurring feature!

  3. 100%! I’m gonna go grow a Tom Selleck mustache right now.

The last question probably shouldn’t count since the name of the clue file is the name of the song. I didn’t notice if that happened in the other clues.

  4. 100%. I don’t think I listened to any of the clips all the way through. Just because I know them doesn’t mean I want to hear them again!

  5. 100% – Oh goodie! I excel at Cheezzzzy Ballad Identification. Have to go now, need to buy ear candles, q-tips and cheezy music erasers!

  6. pizza cake.
No “Sister Christian”? No “Oh Sherry”?

    I miss the 80s.

  7. What a blast from the past! Let’s do that more often!!!

  8. that was awesome….i’m SUCH a dork! i could get some of them in 2 seconds…i would hope there’s better use for the memory that is wasted on that stuff.

  9. OMG, I scored 100%. Don’t tell anybody about this….I’m hiding right now….

  10. 100%, but an easy feat b/c I have every last one of those songs on my iPod & listen to them regularly. The amazing part? I was born in the late 70s, around the same time some of those were recorded. I guess I’m an old soul.

  11. I got 100% (just like on TV jingles, and TV themes, kill me now!) But long about Question 9 I noticed that Music Match Juke Box (which seems to be the default) lists the song title. Not that I needed that, of course!
