Breakfast: It’s What’s for Dinner
by Jason English - March 20, 2007 - 12:46 PM

The other night for dinner I had Kellogg’s Raisin Bran. Breakfast-for-dinner is lazy and fun. But for breakfast, I’ll never eat penne vodka or pulled pork sandwiches or Kung Pao chicken with peanuts*.

This might be why my abs can’t be classified as washboard.

reversediet.jpgTricia Cunningham has been making the rounds, talking up her Reverse Diet. Cunningham was over 300 pounds in 1999 when she started eating dinner for breakfast (and vice versa). She says our bodies are designed to process food this way. Now she’s a svelte 130 and a published author. You can read all about her diet in the book she co-wrote with nutritionist Heidi Skolnik. Though Amazon reviewer M. Fed posted a pretty great synopsis:

“You basically eat a big breakfast, decent lunch, and a tiny dinner. I really didn’t have to spend $25 to do this.”

I am far too great a fan of dinner-for-dinner to test this out. But if you’ve tried it, let us know.

*Extra spicy.

  1. Having breakfast for supper doesn’t make it a smaller meal. And how are you going to lose weight eating bacon, eggs, grits, biscuits, gravy, and taters? I should know -this family does it a lot!
