Joel Mandel of Portland, Oregon, set an unofficial record yesterday—”longest distance traveled to the mental_floss retail store.” He flew in to Cleveland, and his first stop was 8051 Mayfield Road in Chesterland. Yes, his family lives in Cleveland, but we estimate this trip was 85% mental_floss, 15% family bonding. (Joel’s mom, Milta, is pictured with him above.)

Thank you Toby and the mental floss crew! I loved the store and Mom got kick out of it too. I came for the store, but decided to stay for Passover while in the area. See you all again sometime.

Why did you have to open so close (13.5 miles)?
Please do not let my girlfriend back in the store. After one holiday and one birthday, we have 3 t-shirts, 4 books, a game, and some magazines.

I got to some how get myself to that store. In fact, if I can’t make it, I will send a lady. She has cash to spend…don’t know where she got it from though.
