Where Knowledge Junkies Get Their Fix
Who doesn’t love a good TV theme song? Many of the hit shows from the 50s on up had not only memorable, but well-crafted tunes. One or two were even lifted from classical composers like Rossini, though I dare not say which yet, as it will spoil our first TV theme show quiz.
So click onward and have some fun with this… and if you feel like it, let us know how you did in the comments.
I scored a 100% on this quiz. Not sure what that says about my TV habits as a child and teen. LOL

It’s just a little scary but I managed a perfect score on this one. If this would have been current TV shows I would have failed since I don’t have a TV.

Sad to say I hit 15 of 15, most in just a fraction of the played clip. While on the surface that means way too much TV growing up, I can reclaim highbrow status through one of our Cincinnati NPR stations, which plays theme song snippets during a pledge drive trivia game, where I honed my skills.

I hit 10 out of 15, and I’ve gotta back myself up, because I wasn’t even alive for a lot of these shows (or I was too young to even know what a television was).

11 out of 15…Mixed up One day at a Time with Alice and then Benson with Soap…But those were kind of the same show, right?

I got 15 of 15…. the first quiz I have gotten a 100 on. I am not sure that is a good thing.

Still wondering if I should be proud of my 100% score. I miss Soap (and Happy Days, and Dallas, and Eleckra Woman & Dyna-Girl). TV today doesn’t seem to have as many good quotes … “Kiss My Grits”, “Hey,hey, hey”, “Sit On It” “Na-noo, na-noo”. Is it just me (and my personal viewing habits) or does it seem that TV is taking itself much more seriously these days — CSI: everything, Law & Order: everything, 24, Numbers, Sopranos?

OK. I’ve obviously watched way too much TV over the years. I can’t believe I got 100%! However, I’ll have to admit that I really enjoyed this quiz and that it brought back a ton of memories!

Amazingly enough, I got a perfect score, even though I never watched Knight Rider or Doogie Howser (I guessed on those two!) Goes to show how the brain retains information (but I can’t remember what was supposed to be on today’s shopping list…!) Thanks for the memories!

I also got 100%, which is sad. Even more embarrassing is the fact that the Benson theme song was my favorite song when I was 8. I recorded it from the TV with a hand-held tape recorder and although the sound quality was ridiculously bad, I was in heaven, with Benson and Kraus…Man, I’m a nerd!

Hey Bovis,I recorded theme songs off of the TV, too! That is so funny. I recorded Cheers and Night Court. I got 100% on this quiz although I’ve never seen Soap or Barney Miller, weird. I guess my extreme couch potato-iness allowed me to soak this stuff up from the ether.

13 out of 15, not bad I think, got SOAP and BARNEY MILLER themes mixed up, an easy mistake to make …. ok, ok, I’m just trying to make my self feel better! By far my FAVORITE quiz yet!!!! Keep up the good work!
