Koro, from what I remember, isn’t really mass hysteria. I learned about it in an anthropology class. It is culturally specific to parts of Asia and Africa. And that’s about all I can remember. I don’t remember it being called mass hysteria though. Then again, my brain is probably broken.

That’s what I’m wondering, how can he/it have been spotted boarding a flight to Moscow and there’s not visual evidence of such a creature? I’m very curious to know what had become of the Monkey man.. after being deported back to India from Russia..

Also falling into mass hysteria category: Koro or shuk yang. People believe their penises (penii??) have been stolen or have become inverted.

Seinfeld had a more likely answer…shrinkage.
