Fudgie.jpgToday is not my birthday. No, I was born on the 30th of July. But a co-worker recently informed me her planned c-section would be that day. To welcome this new addition to the 7/30 club, let me share a list of notable people with the same born-on date.

  • Emily Brontë, Wuthering Heights author, 1818
  • Henry Ford, 1863
  • Casey Stengal, New York Yankees manager, 1890
  • Bud Selig, Major League Baseball Commissioner, 1934
  • Paul Anka, singer, 1941

  • Jaime Pressley, My Name is Earl co-star, 1977

Also born on July 30 was the fictional Borat Sagdiyev, in 1972. However, this is not Sacha Baron Cohen’s date of birth. So let me ask you this: who’s the greatest person with whom you share a birthday?

  1. I’ve got Craig T. Nelson, Muddy Waters, and Maya Angelou. (Also Jamie Lynn Spears, Robert Downey, Jr and Heath Ledger…blech)

  2. Jackie Robinson, Ernie Banks, Nolan Ryan, Carol Channing and Norman Mailer

  3. My birthday was yesterday (May 2), and I was surprised at how few famous people share my birthday. Or, I guess, famous to me.

    I get:

    • Bing Crosby
    • Dr. Benjamin Spock
    • Donatella Versace
    • The Rock

Sadly, most of my friends were most excited about The Rock last night at my birthday party. Sigh…

  4. July 22:

Pope Innocent IX, Emma Lazarus, Rose Kennedy, Bob Dole, The Fabulous Moolah, Orson Bean, Oscar De La Renta, Louise Fletcher, Alex Trebek, George Clinton, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Danny Glover, Albert Brooks, Don Henley, Willem Dafoe, Jon Oliva, John Leguizamo, David Spade, Shawn Michaels, Keyshawn Johnson (same year, too)

  5. November 16th:
    Real Person – Burgess Meredith
    Fictional Character – James Bond

  6. Sandro Botticelli. I think that’s pretty cool! It’s also the feast of St. David,(Mar 1) which is a national holiday in Wales. It is a custom to observe the day by wearing a leek. I could not make this up if I tried.

  7. Will Rogers, Walter Cronkite, Art Carney. Oh, and the Karate Kid (he’ll be 45!) and Puff Daddy.

On either side of mine is Charles Bronson and Ike Turner. Was I born to be a badass?

  8. April 12th is the greatest day of the year! One day, not too far in the future, it will be a World Holiday, celebrating my birth, the birth of my niece, and these fine folks:

    David Letterman
    Tiny Tim
    Herbie Hancock
    Shannen Doherty
    Claire Danes
    Beverly Cleary
    Ed O’Neill

  19. Albert Einstein.

  55. My birthday is December 2, and I share it with Gianni Versace, Lucy Liu, Nelly Furtado, and Jean-Charles Chapais (father of the Canadian confederation). …And Britney Spears, but I’m less proud of that. I have some wicked awesome people in my zodiac sign, though.

  56. September 18–The Marquis de Lafayette and Greta Garbo. I never bothered to look up more modern ones. I guess I vant to be alone.

  57. I share my birthday (October 30) with The Fonz himself – Henry Winkler.

  58. March 2:

The only famous person I could find with my birthdate is Dr Seuss. But hey, anyone who writes a tongue-in-cheek children’s book about getting old is fine by me!

  60. November 30,
    Winston Churchill
    Sandra Oh
    and probably some others…

  61. Today is my birthday (May 4).
    These share it:

    1929, Audrey Hepburn

    Not as cool -
    1979, Lance Bass (NSYNC)

Side note, I have known several people in real life with my same date of birth with varying degrees of closeness.

  66. I apparently share a birthday with you, Jason, and Jordan.

    JULY 30th baby!

So I share a birthday with all the people in this article, plus a couple people I know.

Wow, this article shocked me when I read the date….funny what a small world it is.

  67. On October 28, Eliphalet Remington (1793), Bill Gates (1955), and me (1987) were born.

Columbus landed in Cuba in 1492, and the Statue of Liberty was dedicated in 1886 (and rededicated in 1936), all on October 28.

I found several things of interest that ended on my birthday, as well, including the Cuban Missile Crisis and the lives of Maxentius (312) and John Locke (1704).

Now I suppose we should consider how to define “greatest person.”
