Fake Brands Galore!
by Mangesh Hattikudur - May 4, 2007 - 8:26 AM

chinesefakebrand15.jpgI know I’ve been posting a lot of pics today, but these are really too funny to me. Having just come back from Asia, it’s astounding how many fake brands line the stalls on the streets. And ThePresurfer’s collected some of the best around. I don’t know what PantBoy and Sccoby are (I’m guessing the appeal is in the Scooby/Snoopy combination?) but I sure do like ‘em.

  1. See the lil Playboy bunny logo? I wonder what the PantBoy Mansion looks like.

  2. yeah! when i went to Asia, we saw these copies of nike, adidas, etc. i wish i had pics. The nike swoosh was close, but the fake had a barb on it, like a fishhook…In the Bahamas, the people in the straw markets made purses and other items with spongebob and other cartoon characters on them, it was really interesting…

  3. Asia has the funniest fakes. Honestly my best purchase of all time was a fake North Face duffle bag in Thailand. The thing is huge and can carry so much stuff. I have used in on so many trips and moving back and forth from home to college- only ten dollars too!

I am in Peru right now which has an abundance of fakes as well (mostly pirated dvds). I really needed to buy some socks, and luckily there was a nice selection of Nioke socks at the store- I got three pairs!

  4. Yeah, last summer in Libya, where most clothes come from Turkey/China, I saw my cousin wearing a t-shirt with Spiderman on it, and guess what the writing under it said?

    Scooby-Doo

  5. You guys always remind me of The Simpsons. The episode where they get a new t.v. at a discount, Sorny and Magnetbox are my two favorite brands.

  6. Adidas – Adibas, Abibos :)

People name popular brands different names so that these brands won’t have any complaints against. When I was a child I thought these guys made mistakes.
