My husband wouldn't go for all-out Star Wars nuptials (bummer), but I did get to walk down the aisle to Princess Leia's Theme... it had a good bit of romance to it, since one of our first dates (a Halloween party) had me dressed as Princess Leia.

My boyfriend and I will be the Klingon wedding at Trek Trax Atlanta in April 2012. Getting married at a Star Trek convention is about perfect for us. The Klingon wedding featured above - I've seen pictures before - wasn't very traditional. The bride and groom should both wear red and there does not seem to be a batliff battle nor where the couple attacked after the ceremony. Now that DS9 is streaming on Netflix, everyone should go watch the episode with Worf's wedding (and on an unrelated note, the Tribble episode).

I am actually planning on having a Star Wars/Trek wedding! I want to dress up in the female OS uniform and my fiance as a Jedi. I'm just working on getting someone who would dress as a character from either franchise, (preferably Trek) to officiate.

I only know that this is 2010 and Star Wars still rules!! I would really enjoy an Imperial March with stormtroopers and all. But quit all the Vader (bride's daddy), I would rather be a commando!! Yeah those guys rule, and she could use one too, we don't care they are clones, we can say wer'e form different batches. XD Some props, and there you go! An awesome geeky wedding!

To Sid, I say that you really need to open up a bit. I know TONS of attractive Star Trek fans. One of them is a model, for goodness sakes, and she's one of the biggest Trekkies I know!

We had an awesome Star Wars wedding. I dressed as Leia with the buns and my husband was Han. My maid of honor was a Jedi, the groomsmen were Imperial officers and we walked in to various Star Wars tracks. Our vows included references from the movies. It was a lot of fun. We had the cutest R2-D2 cake - it was made on a frame so he actually sat on his legs and not on his butt. I made a big Death star out of paper mache and we stuck it in the basketball goal (we had the reception at his mom's church). The best part? It was my idea, not his!

I've been to two space/Sci-Fi themed weddings, and both brides were both very geek, and very hot. It's just another way to affirm to the world your devotion to each other. Many cultures have many ways to do it, most of them are extraordinarily powerful if you /feel/ the symbology, or are like cardboard if it's just for show. SF, is just another culture. I happen to like Space themed weddings, because space is about exploring the unknown, and what could be a greater act of exploration, than uniting with another. (With the added benefit of having someone to watch your back.) I've seen weddings from many cultures (Including Polynesian and voo doo - Very pretty.), and performed "Basic" Christian ceremonies and Druidic Hand Fastings, All have their particular beauty and power if the participants believe.

and @elphaba I believe you are looking for the The "Bridal Chorus" "Treulich geführt", from the opera Lohengrin, by German composer Richard Wagner. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridal_Chorus
