Nothing like a thick, flavorful steak, especially when it’s a vegan-friendly dessert. Wondering how that happens? Simple—just a bit of pastillage and fondant can turn an ordinary cake into an extraordinary steak cake.
The OC Weekly has a great photo set of 14 mouthwatering dishes, all of which are cakes in disguise as other types of food. The article features a buffalo wings platter, a sushi boat, a Big Mac and more. If you like them, be sure to check out the cake decoration Flickr stream by Debbie Does Cakes, who is prominently featured in the article.
Hmmm, a steak cake. I usually don’t do cake, but I’d make an exception for this.

Fondant is neither vegan nor vegetarian, not a lot of people are aware of that.

Assuming you are referring to the gelatin used in fondant as the non-vegetarian-friendly ingredient, not all fondant uses gelatin. Some is just sugar and corn syrup. If you’re referring to something else, please tell me now!!
