Weird Website of the Week: There, I Fixed It
by Ransom Riggs - June 15, 2010 - 11:54 AM

It’s been many a week since my last “weird website of the week,” but that’s because it’s all about quality, not quantity, people! You’ll be relieved to know that I’ve finally stumbled across a website weird enough to rival prior entries Selleck Waterfall Sandwich and Babies with Laser Eyes. It’s called There, I Fixed It, and it features bizarre contraptions and terrible workarounds from around the world, sent in by camera-wielding fans. You might see something like this, a deadly contraption whose application I can only guess at. Someone was embarrassed enough to be seen with this thing that they cut themselves out of the photo.

This yard statue makes a not very convincing sales pitch:

If you’re short on barbecue grills, you might try this:

Why throw out a perfectly good laptop? They make great wall clocks, too.

This one’s more like There I Broke It, but I like it anyway:

  1. I was exposed to this site many months ago. It is truly, truly redneck heaven. A must-see for every living creature.

  2. Too bad ThisIsWhyYoureFat.com is offline…had some good laughs with that site.

  3. I’m a fan of the facebook faux pas pages like stfuparents, stfumarrieds, and, of course, lamebook.

  4. I’ve been popping in on this website for quite awhile. Always good for a laugh… or a cringe! Lately it’s pictures have been used and the website promoted on the Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno.

  5. For just a moment I thought the “device” in the first picture was the monolith from 2001… Then I read the part about them cutting themselves out of the picture.

  6. There I fixed it was better before it was a part of the Chzburger network.

I really love: http://www.cakewrecks.blogspot.com Awesome site and good for some killer laughs and is completely safe for work.

  7. I’m going to have to call photoshop on the tractor/chainsaw photo. Bad photoshop. You may now throw rotten tomatoes at me for spoiling the fun. I’m sorry.

  8. I agree with MetalRose but I still visit the site frequently.

  9. Actually, the chain saw on the tractor bucket is not a bad idea_assuming you can attach it “safely” to the bar- which it isn’t in the photo.

Raising the bucket and pitching it over, plus moving the tracker would give you a lot of degrees of freedom to maneuver it to a tall branch.

I am not saying this is something I would recommend, but it is a lot safer than climbing a ladder with a chain saw.

  10. I LOVE the kludge website! :)

  11. That first one is obviously for the Zombie Apocalypse. It’s a great idea. You just need more chainsaws and to aim them at head level.
