Security Briefs: Underwear with a silver lining
by Mangesh Hattikudur - May 21, 2007 - 6:54 AM

radiation_proof_underwear.jpgTheRawFeed is reporting that Swiss clothing manufacturer Isabodywear is releasing a new line of underwear that supposedly protects “men’s sperm from harmful cell phone radiation.” So, what’s the secret? The black briefs are lined with threads of silver to block cell phone rays and reception. To me, the result sounds equal parts extravagant, and difficult to get through an airport metal detector.

  1. They should use silver nano particles (not thread). They could make the additional claim of odor resistant/anti-microbial underwear.

  2. Not a bad idea, crispy.

And people shouldn’t have problems getting through metal detectors depending on what kind of silver was used. Most won’t set them off though. Think jewelry, fillings, etc.
