Oh very young: what will you leave us this time?

lkjAn 18 year-old girl from Long Beach is now the youngest person to have climbed Mt. Everest. She made the climb with her father, and you can read about her experience on her blog. Props to you, Ms. Larson! Now she can feel free to move on to a different kind of acclimatization: freshman orientation. And here’s a list of some other young notables:

  2. she’s actually the youngest american or the youngest foreigner.. a cursory web search wasn’t enough to pin it down exactly. but younger people than her have made it to the summit.

  3. I saw Charlie Gibson on ABC News talking about her last night, ending with the mysterious fact: “She has reached the tallest summits on every continent, and *believed to be* the first person her age to do so.”

    Believed to be? What, was your fact-checking team too busy with the Paris Hilton file to look it up?
