Man Sleeps Through Gunshot to Head
by Mangesh Hattikudur - May 22, 2007 - 4:53 AM

images6.jpgI thought I was a pretty sound sleeper, but apparently, 37-year old Michael Lusher has me beat. Reuters is reporting that the West Virginia native woke up on the wrong side of the bed yesterday morning only to learn that he’d taken a bullet to the cranium?! Of course, what’s fascinating about the whole thing is that he didn’t wake up when he was shot, but about 4 hours later. And while the whole affair raises several questions (like why was someone spraying the drunk Mr. Lusher’s trailer with bullets at 4 in the morning, and why does stuff like this always seem to come out from West Virginia), my biggest question is what does this guy use to wake up in the mornings? After all, if a gunshot wound can’t get your attention, I’m not sure a standard issue alarm clock has a fighting chance. More details at Yahoo News.

  1. Is this legit? I mean, Mr. LUSHER, the DRUNK, of WV, sleeps through being shot in the head? Sounds like tabloid/urban legend stuff to me.

  2. heh… I know! Thoroughly valid question, and something I was wondering about (like if they mistyped Lisher as Lusher or something). I generally trust the Reuters newswire, though.

  3. My brother was recently shot in the head, and was fully awake during his trip to the emergency room. 6 months later his only problem is a strange sense of memory (he cannot quote random facts about his own life, only others’), and lacks peripheral vision.
