It's funny, because I was born in June 7th, and I know lots and lots of other Spaniards who were born on this very same day. I was so intrigued by it that I started calculating what happened nine months earlier, which is more or less it's around August 31... which is when the last day of the summer holidays around here. I suppose a lot of people get carried away by the warm weather, the sense of impeding work around the corner... when they have already packed their contraception in a suitcase!

The rule of thumb for determining conception is "add three months then subtract a week". That would make a May 22nd baby's conception date August 15--dead in the middle of the hottest month. It's no surprise, then, that this is the date the fewest babies were conceived.
BTW, an earlier post states that Christmas babies are born on August 22 and that's just plain bad math. Babies born on this date would be conceived mid November.

Around 22nd August the Christmas babies are born. Not perhaps a date to start another project right away?
