Look who’s ‘On the Lot’

lot.jpgI don’t suppose an erudite readership like ours watches much reality TV. But I’ve gotta come clean — I do. Lately, however, it’s been driven by the fact that people I know have been competing on them, like Brandon from the American Idol top twelve (he used to be my neighbor), and now three (count ‘em, three) from the Idol follow-up, On the Lot. Even better, they’re classmates of mine from USC film school (er, my submission must’ve gotten lost in the mail), and it’s great to see we Trojans reprezent so darn effectively. The competish will be heating up bigtime over the next few weeks, and while I expect my compadres to hang tough for the long haul, I figured it couldn’t hurt to give y’all a little voting guide as well. They are:

Sam F.
sam.jpgSam’s thesis film for USC, Lucid, was just plain jaw-dropping. Wish I could include the trailer here, but it looks like the Lot producers put the kibosh on his movie’s website (as well as his MySpace page) for the time being. Suffice to say, he’s a talented fellow.

Jarrett C.
jarrett.jpgAlso known as Jcon, Jarrett is one ambitious dude. Just listen to his pitch, the “intro” video he had to shoot for The Lot:

Adam S.
I don’t have a picture of Adam, but I do have a short film of his, in its entirety, which I think speaks for itself:

  1. Jarrett’s video seems like a direct rip of the wes anderson american express commercial. Hopefully his other stuff is more original.

  2. Yeah, Charles is right. OOPS!!

  3. CharlesV,

Jarrett’s intro video was posted on YouTube Jan. 16, Anderson’s commerical debuted at the Oscars. No rip, my friend.
