Sci-Fi Dinner Party
by Jill Harness - July 22, 2010 - 10:48 AM

This alien chestburster roast might not look like the most delicious dinner party centerpiece, but it’s certainly the most imaginative I’ve ever seen and it fits right in with the other out-of-this-world delicacies served at this sci-fi dinner party.

Science fiction stories represented include Firefly, Star Trek, Futurama, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Dune, Aliens and Soylent Green. A lot of the food looks surprisingly tasty, from the Slurm to the lembas bread to the Soylent Green (it’s not people).

Of course, the highlight of the meal was certainly the chestburster, which was made by wrapping Parma ham around a pork roast. Sounds as delicious as it looks disgusting.

  2. Is there a problem with the link in this article?

  3. Yeah, I can’t open the link either. :-/

  4. Won’t load for me, either. Can’t find the server.

  5. Looks like they’re having server issues. Hope we didn’t do that to them.

  7. I’m going to be Super Geek here and just throw out that technically Lord of the Rings is not science fiction. It is fantasy and I don’t know why it would be thrown in there with those other stories. You may now give me a wedgie.

  8. Well, if you order roast chestburster, you’re bound to have server issues.

  9. I would royally be freaked out if after eating the roast chestburster I began to have heartburn.

  10. The /. effect via mental floss. Don’t feel bad Jason. Take it as a sign that MF has arrived!
