Misheard Lyrics: Pearl Jam’s “Yellow Ledbetter”

Following our rich tradition of mondegreen research (misheard song lyrics), I came across this video of Pearl Jam’s “Yellow Ledbetter” captioned completely in mondegreens:

  7. I watched the vid with the real lyrics side by side, and I found the mondegreen version more plausible on the whole than the real ones. Is Eddie singing with slime mold in place of his tongue?

  10. Brings back memories of me being in a car in the 80’s (ok I am gonna admit this..) listening to the new Princ cassette and my boyfriend starts singing “YABBA DABBA DOO”… instead of “I would die for you”.. I never laughed so hard in my life

  16. what people seem to be missing is that this song was a cover done by pearl jam. not really a pearl jam song.

  17. What you also seem to be missing is that “Yellow Ledbetter” is supposed to be one gigantic mondegreen. Vedder has said in the past that the lyrics are different every time he sings it.
