Today’s Brain Game is perhaps trickier than it first seems… but hey, maybe you can use it one day to win a bar bet. Good luck:

Name every U.S. president whose first and last
names begin with the same letter of the alphabet.

Here is the SOLUTION.

  1. Missed one but came up with the two that fit, but don’t. I even remember my History professor from last semester saying that those two used their middle names instead of their first names

  2. Got all four and was wondering why “Four’s Too Many”…now I know

  3. I remembered from a previous m_f story about the middle name things, but couldn’t remember which 1 (or 2) of the presidents used their middle names. I got all four, and knew Ronald was Reagan’s first name… but could go no further on HH, WW, or CC. Good one!

  4. Much like you, Ryan, I fell into the same trap. This is why we come to Mental Floss, though – to learn!

  5. At first I misread the instructions and was looking for last names that began and ended with the same letter. Thought of Nixon and Taft then luckily reread the directions.
