As a kid, I used to love Jolly Good soda in Wisconsin. They used to put jokes on the inside bottom of the can.

I've only tried Big Red from that list. It's so hard to find all those brands in New York.

Wink used to be widely available here in Toronto, ON under the C'Plus banner (granted, this was the late '90s-early 2000s). Another local favourite is The Pop Shoppe. Lime Ricky is the best flavour.

Here in Southern Ontario, up here in the Great White North, I used to enjoy Wink (but none of my friends did), Vernors (let it go flat and drink it if you are feeling unwell), and of course Hires Root Beer, my favorite of the three.

Frank's Soda from Philly has been completely out of business for some time now, and I don't believe you can get anything under that label anymore. But Canada Dry makes a Black Cherry Wishniak (as does Stewart's, I believe) that aren't as sweet as the original Frank's soda, but pretty darn close.

Last month, I took my family to Knoebel's Grove amusement park in north central PA - and found they had Moxie for sale in the park store. My son tried Moxie on a dare a few years back in Vermont, and liked it, so I picked up a bottle. The cashier looked at me and asked, "Have you ever had Moxie before?" I replied that it wasn't for me. She said, "Oh. Okay - I was just going to warn you..."

*After reading this list the first time, I made my mom seek some out on her last trip to NC...it was worth it! I've seen it here in Ohio only at City BBQ (they stock regional sodas).

*I absolutely HATE celery, so Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray sounds horrid.

*Big Red tastes like medicine. There I said it.

*I grabbed a Blenheim's at a small local grocery store and did NOT care for it...it's too "hot" to be enjoyable.
Give me a Vernor's any day of the week!

*If you eat a strawberry Starburst and drink Diet Coke at the same time, you'd swear you just drank a Faygo Redpop!
