Is your cat ever really safe enough? For those warrior cats who need additional protection during their wartime pursuits, artist Jeff de Boer has created these stunning (and hilarious) suits of armor for cats and mice.
There are many styles to choose from, so whether you want to own a gladiator mouse or a samurai cat, you can be sure that you and your pet’s personal style will be incorporated into their armor.
While you’re visiting the site, be sure to check out his other art galleries, which are filled with other impressive projects.
I’d pay big money to watch someone try to put a suit of armor on MY cat.

Does anyone know pricing for these? The site didn’t have much info on commissioning a piece.

Tim,
I’m right there with you! Let’s put cats and mice in the armor and see what happens??! I can’t even imagine my cat putting up with getting into one of these but I do have to wonder if Jeff has fit-models!

I love that it has a metal tail and metal ears.

I’d have to be the one with the armor on if I tried putting that on my cat! But, it would look so cool.
Could you imagine the image that would project on the field of battle if even the General’s CAT was a warrior in armor?

Someone has been watching too much Tom and Jerry. They are beautiful.

Most of my cats would tear me to pieces (or have a heart attack in one case) rather than be put in one of those. But my orange tiger? He lets me put a harness and leash on him, so I somehow think he’d put up with armor. ;)

My cat just wouldn’t fit. Like squeezing a watermelon into a cantaloupe. But if he could fit, he would let me dress him.

I wonder how my cats would react. Hunker down and stay (like they did when I tried the harness and collar thing) or run like a small piece of duct tape was on thier tale. hmm. They are fascinating to look at though

There’s a 12th century fresco in a chapel in Pürgg, Austria showing an epic battle between cats and mice. An image can be found here: http://www.wga.hu/frames-e.html?/html/zgothic/mural/12c2/13austri.html

One of my cats is named for Stonewall Jackson (only because he’s gray. I’m not harboring any secessionist or racist tendencies.) Maybe I could get a Confederate uniform commissioned for him…

I can’t even get a leash on my cat. And Melodye it’s sad that people nowadays see or hear something having to do with the Confederacy and automatically assume racism is the underlying tone, when it really was just a small facet – That’s like saying in 100 years America being remembered for GITMO and nothing else.
