Whether you’re boning up for your SAT’s or looking to impress the mother-in-law, a little word knowledge can do you good. Find out what “elide” means in our Vocab Rehab corner. Oh, and don’t forget to take our Daily Quiz on “The Best Ears of Our Life.” Trust us, it’s worth the additional click!

  1. Hey!!! Why did you move it from the side bar? And where is going to be now?

  2. Okay, nevermind. I found it.

Methinks I got a little too shaken by the prospect of them moving.

Perhaps it’s time to switch to decafe.

  3. No worries, Ed! We’ll be putting the banner back up on the right side in a bit. We’re just playing around with the homepage, and making small (hopefully positive) changes by the day.

  4. why did you take the quiz and stuff off the right side of your home page .. it was cool cause while i was working lol .. i could just quickly click on it and take the quiz ..a highlight of my day .. dont make me have to look for it cause that would cut into my working time lol .. i really enjoy your site and look at it every day

  5. Well, your post did make me go look at the vocab rehab page, because although I know what “an elision” is and what “to elide” means, I was thrown off by “an elide” in the title… (It’s a verb!)

  6. By the way what has happened to the “Most Improtant Questions” daily entry.

It hasn’t changed since April 25th.
