They didn’t have to just let the creature die, but they also didn’t have to so completely alienate it from its natural environment. And coffee can’t be good for it.
Now, it will end up either unhappy or dead. It’s like those people who feed their dogs all kinds of crappy human food because they ‘love’ them.
