Happy September, everyone. Sandy’s Square Dance involves “word pictures,” which use a square as a point of reference. The contents of each square is a clue to an answer, and all three answers are related in some way. Solve the clues, then determine the tie that binds the three together. Good luck!

Here is the SOLUTION.

  1. Got the first two. Never heard of the last one.

  2. Same here, Tini.

  3. I went with “next to you”

  4. I knew the third one would be tough. They promoted the heck out of the show (playing up Kelsey Grammer as the star) but it didn’t last very long.

  5. I got the first two just fine.

But then I got all caught up in thinking that the third one was the name of some band.

    Silly me.

  6. Since Sandy reminded us about Kelsey Grammer, that was his FOX show after Frasier. He and Patricia Heaton (after Raymond, before her current ABC show) were divorced-from-each-other news anchors in Pittsburgh. Hilarity ensued.

  7. I knew the last two but I’ve never heard of the first

  8. nailed it, proving once again, I watch too much TV

  9. I got “Two and a Half Men” immediately, and that gave me “Still Standing.” Since they were both Monday night CBS comedies, I thought that was the link and tried to think of one that would fit the last clue. “Is there a way to get ‘Yes, Dear’ from U2?” Never even thought of considering Fox shows.

I just realized something. The ABC Wednesday line-up last fall had three shows in a row starring “Back to You” alums. Grammer’s “Hank” bombed, but Heaton’s and Ty Burrell’s did well. Huh.
