the Quarter Backs quiz
by Sandy Wood - July 2, 2007 - 11:17 AM

I like quarters. I’m sure it has something to do with the fact that I spent so many of them as a teenager trying to beat Donkey Kong. (Heck, I think I financed the Nintendo Corporation quarter-by-quarter in 1983.) Since 1999, the U.S. Mint’s state quarter series has made the 25-cent piece worth examining again.

asdfaDSome of them are easy to identify. The peach and the outline of the state’s borders makes the Georgia quarter easy to spot, even with all the dates and text removed. Not all of them are as easy to distinguish, however, which you’ll learn by trying to identify each of the $5 worth of state quarters in this nifty quiz. It’s free and, better yet, you don’t have to dodge any flaming barrels. Woohoo!

  1. 60%, because most were just random guesses. With two little kids around, I never get to keep quarters for any length of time!

  2. Well, there are a lot more quarters circulating now that Jason took his jar of coins to the bank.

    http://www.mentalfloss.com/blogs/archives/6361

  3. 65%. Funny thing about the New Hampshire quarter is that the Old Man In The Mountain isn’t even there anymore.

  4. 14 out of 20, 70% not bad

  5. 90%. A lot of them I could guess from visiting certain places.
I love this site because it helps with my retention of useless trivia and knowledge. My wife always laments that I can’t remember when to take out the trash.

  6. 80% bitches!

  7. I got 19 out of 20 correct. I guess I really need to get a life.

  8. 70% A lot better than I expected, being that I was only sure of 2 correct answers.

  9. 60% Guess I didn’t look at the quarters very closely when I got them!!

  10. 70%, which I think is excellent considering that I’m Canadian.

  11. that was fun! i can’t remember my score, but it surprised me that i didn’t remember them w/o the names….

  12. Bill T,

Yeah, I love that the Old Man no longer exists (it feel a few years ago) but that it is still on all our state issued things (liscence, plates, quarters, highway signs, state vehicles, etc.) but I guess its all we have to show off. There isn’t much else here in the granite state.

  13. Woo! 100% for me! I obviously pay a bit more attention to these than I should… Although I am collecting one of each, and helping another friend collect two of each quarter from each mint for herself and her brother.

    See them all at http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/index.cfm?flash=yes&action=50_state_quarters_program

  14. 90% Shoulda known that Arizona would have the Grand Canyon rather than some generic desert scene.

  15. The image for questions 7 and 8 is the same. The image is for Kansas, so how does one answer number 8?

  16. 95%! Hooray for useless knowledge and a good memory.

  17. 80%, though I struggled with the ones not released yet, nailed the ones already in circulation.

Is it just me, or was there a problem with the image for #8, which appeared to be a duplicate picture? I had to flip a coin on that one (no, not a quarter…)

  18. I have no idea what’s going on with the image for #8 — it was working fine before, and appears to be working fine now. I couldn’t re-create any sort of error. Maybe certain browsers are coughing on it, I dunno. I re-submitted the images to see if it’ll help.

  19. And Chan, just for the record, all of these coins are in circulation. (And that’s a hint as to the answer on a couple of them!) The most recent one to appear (to date) was Idaho in early June 2007.

  20. 65% — not bad for a Canadian who’s never seen any of them before!

  21. My co-worker got 16 out of 20 right and challenged me to try to beat his score. I got 20 out of 20 right! Apparently he didn’t realize how much trivial information I can remember.

  22. 80%. childhood numismatist with a mind for trivia.

  23. Very interesting! A good test of what 20 of the 50 states thought was important or identified them to the rest of the country. Got 16 of the 20 correct but not as many as some the folks from north of the border :(.

  24. good test ….I forwarded it to other people I only ogt 14 right

  25. I scored 75%

  34. I did better the 2nd time around. got an 80.

  35. very interesting test. I thought I would have done better.

  42. I look at them so much I am surprised I only got 70%! it was fun!

  43. 100% because I am collecting them and I have all from Delaware to Idaho.

  44. 90% in 18 out of 20. I enjoyed the test and refresh my mind. I passed!

  45. This should be put in the schools and see just how many of the students can give the right answers. put them all on when they have all been minted. Would like to try it then. Thank you for the chance to do this one.

  46. I have the collection. Duh!

  47. I think it was a great test. While I scored 80% I think I should have done better if I had just looked a little closer. Regardless, I am satisfied and again, thank you for a very nice test.

  48. Score 40% awful test. I will retest it.

  49. Great test, I got 100%

  60. I got 100% right. I have been collecting the statehood quarters, since its inception, for my grandchildren.

  61. I got 100%, I have been collecting them since they started coming out.

  62. Grandmothers collecting quarters for grandchildren should answer this quiz easily.

  63. I have looked at these with my son a lot and felt pretty confident. Got an 80%, not too bad.

  64. I will have to look at my quarter collection again!

  65. very interesting

  66. 100% – Too easy – what else ya got?

  67. 100% Not too hard. How about you? :o)

  68. I scored 20! I scored 20! I guess I can graduate from college now.

    Nice Quiz!

  76. I got 17 out of 20.

  77. This was a fun quiz. I only scored 51%feel I could have done better if I would have given some more thought to it.

  78. I love this. I am a fourth grade teacher and I have a quarter swap with my kids every year. we finish the day with a quiz of my own invention regarding the quarters.

  79. 75% – Only OK but I tried. It was a fun Trivia subject!

  80. Let’s be serious, California should have had some pot weeds and strippers. Go California!

  81. I scored 55%. Fun.

  82. Montana-Arizona were hard. Is it kosher to quiz unreleased coins?

  83. i found that quite easy actually

  84. ** Kay says: Montana-Arizona were hard. Is it kosher to quiz unreleased coins? **

All the quarters used in the quiz were released to the public — I didn’t use any that were still pending for the last half of 2007 or for 2008. We’re tricky, but we’re not THAT tricky!

  85. I got 16 of the 20= 80% -but what’s bad about that is I got my own state WRONG!

  86. Geeeze! I only scored 30%. I thought I would do MUCH better.

  87. My husband and I are collecting these uncirculated, so I should have scored better than 80%. With #5, I immediately thought of Georgia O’Keefe; therefore, Arizona. Wrong!! Such is life, but it was interesting. Thanks

  88. Tougher than you’d think….I got 50%.

  89. Really fun quiz…beautiful artwork and much study went into creating these quarter State representations I’m sure. This is a fun way for us to appreciate them.

  90. 65%, not so good, but it was a great quiz

  91. 14 out of 20 70% Fun Quiz

  92. 20/20 right and discovered yet another way to keep old neurons firing in sequence! LMAO

  93. da

  94. Good quiz. I did not think i would get 10 right. Never studied the quarters. Just quessed. Thank you.

  95. More difficult than it looks. Thought I knew them all. Only got 13 out of 20

  96. 20/20 As a collector, I’ve seen all but South Dakota. Easy quiz for me.

  97. 20/20 Rather trickey on a few, but extra thought will prevail.

  98. I should have done better (14 of 20) since I’ve been collecting the state quarters from the start. For shame!

  99. I did 18 out of 20, and the only reason is that I have been collecting them since 1999.

  100. I scored 70%, which wasn’t too bad. This is one of the most enjoyable and informative “quizzes” I’ve taken on the net. Thanks. I’ll pass it on.

  101. Great quiz! It would be neat to have an explanation of the symbols when its graded…

  102. Well, I’m only half dumb.

  103. I got a 90!! And I’m only 12!

  104. Better than average…. but had not seen some of them before.

  105. You would think as big a deal as all of us put on collecting these Quarters we would know more about them.. I think we all need a refresher course in learning..

  106. GREAT. I REALLY DID NOT REALISE THAT I WAS PAYING SO MUCH ATTENTION TO THE PICTURES. I GOT 18 OUT OF 20.

  107. I always try to remember what each Qoarter looks like.
    I got 19 out of 20.

  108. This was a little tricky. I have to say that I was a little disappointed that I didn’t see the Hawai’i quarter.
some of the choices for the quarters did not make any sense. It was still fun, though!

  109. 95% I would have gotten them all right but my buffalo roamed into the wrong Dakota!

  110. This was really hard. Sure showed me how observant I’m not!

  111. SCORE IS 65%.

  112. I recieved a perfect score, but I do have a slight advantage since I work at a bank.

  113. 15 outta 20 is hella good

  114. I GOT 17 OUT OF 20 RIGHT. YEAH ! DIDN’T THINK I COULD REMEMBER !!
    ANNAE’

  115. I did better that thought, I was confident about my knowledge of the states until I actually saw the coins. I like this quiz!

  116. This was sent to me via e-mail from antoher co-worker.It was really a good brain teaser. How is your responses scored?

  117. GREAT

  118. I LOVE THIS GAME, IT KEEPS YOU THINKING..

  119. THis is BS. I cite # 7. Who hasn’t heard of the Colorado Buffalo’s.

  120. 70% yeah!

  121. 50%

  122. I like your site, but I would like to know more about the coin’s origin.-I’m only 11

  123. I scored 70%- should have been higher, not only do I have uncirculated sets of these quarters, my secondary major was state(s) history!! But that was a long time ago!!

  124. I scored 100.

  125. I did worse than I thought. I better not tell my father-he’s a history teacher! I actually have a collection of beanie bears that have the state quarters in their feet, I guess I should get them out to remind me what the state quarters look like!

  126. Oh yeah.

  127. Cool – I got 90% enjoyed the quiz!

  128. Better than the average (and the person who sent it to me!) so I’m happy!

  129. Well I got 95% alot better than I thought. It was fun. Hope everyone is having a great day!!!!

  130. 50% for me…not bad considering I’m from uk…..

  131. 10 out 20 I guess that’s 50%

  132. I’m from Russia and have never seen other these coins ( exsept oregon’s) and I have 55 %….and average score is 58 %…it’s a pity that americans don’t know their coins… :(

  133. Enjoyed the quiz!

  134. Just shows how non-descript the pics on back of quarters are. Two buffalos with the sun?

  135. I scored 95% but I have been saving them for my Grandkids. So I look at them quite often!

  136. I got 14

  137. That was fun! Thanks for putting it together. I’ll show my kids and friends.

  138. This was harder than it looked. But we got 70% which isn’t bad. But it could have been better. My 9 year old son was helping us too.

  139. 70%

  140. Not too horrible. I guessed on alot of them.

  141. I got 95% right in 2 minutes time. I only missed the second one, Nebraska instead of Oklahoma.

  142. Very Cool…harder than you think! At least I got more than 50% (55)

  143. Great quiz. I got 19 right.

  144. This is not an easy mental test, but it was fun…17 of 20 not great but not terrible.

  145. Very entertaining! Got 70% of them, but it was a real test. Thank you!

  146. This is a fun brain teaser. Makes you want to pay attention to the money you carry in your pockets.

  147. There were many that I had not seen before. It would be interesting to know more about the state symbols and what state characteristics/events they represent

  148. Boy do I feel stupid – but I guess I am not alone. Thanks, this fun.

  149. Quiz was great. 65% – better than average but I’m not proud of it!!
    Thanks for a good time!!
    Linda Kling

  150. That quiz is so much fun.You should make a lot more quizs like that.

  151. I got 75%

  152. that was fun send out more thank you.

  153. Never really looked at the back of my quarters, Sorry to bring the average down.

  154. rawr im beast

  155. It just goes to show how little we know about our own country

  156. Fun quiz. 90%. Some were a WAG to answer.

  157. At 73 yrs. old and a grasp of American History I wonder who designed some of the pictures that were used for the engravings.

  158. Out of 20,I got 19, I did good

  159. Fun! 70%!

  160. %100 All you people need help!

  161. Okay…I stink. 70% and I happend to have 75cent (3 quarters) that was Ohio, Montanna & Nebraska and I still stink!!!! It was fun though.

  162. Not bad at 85% but missed some that I thought would be other images, e.g.;
    Louisiana – should have an extended hand(s??) looking for a tax handout;
Delaware: DuPont building or flag with NYSE symbol in middle
California: Freeway cloverleaf jammed with cars….with a faux crack down the middle.

Treasury was remiss with not having more ‘realistic’ images. Tsk!

  163. thank you.

  164. L must have been sleeping when I took this test. To embarassed to reviel my score. Very good test…. THANKS

  165. I got 12 out of 20 -60%

  166. I’m embarrassed at 55%.

  167. My score was 65%

  168. I’v been collecting these things, so was a little disappointed at 80%, but at least I got those right. Lots o’ fun! Thanks.

  169. Fun quiz…..although I only got 11 out of 20 (55%)!! Looks like I need to brush up on U.S. geography facts!

  170. Even though I knew they would be tricky without any obvious identifying landmarks, I was fooled on the Tennessee/Kentucky choice. It got me to doubting even those I would have otherwise chosen. Still, I think 13 out of 20 isn’t that bad!

  171. 60% or 12 out of 20! This is tougher than I thought and I’m happy with my score. The State Quarter’s are beautiful and I’m so glad we have them to look at and to collect!

  172. This is more difficult than I imagined but I managed to get a score of 65%.

  173. Got them all right.

  174. It would be nice after the test has been taken to know what the meaning of the coin is.

  175. 60% I guessed most of them… :)
    It was fun!!!

  176. Fun quiz! I am very proud to report that I got a 100%!! I am a collecter and I do work at a bank, but I didn’t cheat!! :)

  177. 70% 14 out of 20.

  178. Fascinating!….got 55……now will forward.

  179. This was pretty cool. I got 80% 16 out of 20. I changed a few I shouldn’t have, but it was fun!

  180. I thought this quarterback quiz was fun even if I didn’t do that well.

  181. Wow! I shocked myself. 75% Pure luck.

  182. Wow, I got 80%…that was fun. Any more like this?

  183. I got 95 percent. Missed South Dakota which was North Dakota or was that vice versa

  184. 75%

  185. Great Quiz. Would like to have seen a short blur what the relationship of the symbol and state were with the answers. Could have been interesting.
    Enjoyed in any case.

  186. Very interesting, how about the nickles or new dollars

  187. I got 70% and that would have been lower if I hadn’t gone back and changed two or three of them. Really enjoyed it anyway.

  188. I messed up! Only 75% right!

  189. I really enjoyed this. I got a 70%. Not to bad. Any more?

  190. This is hard, I have been collecting quarters since the beginning. will try again after I look at them
    again. I got 78%

  191. thought I would do better than 78% since I have collected all that have come out so far, well I’ll try again

  192. Scored 100%! I’ve been collecting the quarters for me and my kids. It is s allot of fun when you don’t get the run around from the banks. Also collect them for my mom.

  193. I thought this was an awesome quiz. I had to carefully look at each background and decide what I knew about each state. Most I recognized in a snap; while the others I had to think a minute before answering. The ones I hesitated on were the ones I missed: only 4. Thanks for sharing this with the people!

  194. 95%. I went back and changed three or four of my answers before submitting it. I guess you can’t always depend on going with your first answer.

  195. 15 out of 20……This is fun, give it a try……….

  196. 98%. I missed the 2 I don’t have in my collection. Not bad….I enjoyed it.

  197. scored 75%

  198. That was good, but challenging. I thoroughly enjoyed doing the quiz.
    I scored only 55% Uh-Oh!

  199. Great idea!
Have any other tests about unusual objects that not many people think about?

  200. fun , challenging . scored 70% not to bad for a non collector of coins

  201. This was fun! I got 55% which is ok. The only embarassing one was missing Montana, my favorite vacation spot! You know, up around York and the sapphire hills. Good times! Thanks for the game!

  202. I should have given it more consideration, however some states have lots of the same character and look the same they could have been a possible. It was difficult to choose.

  203. I got 70%…..14 right out of 20

  204. I should have done better..only 80%. Goes to show that I don’t always see what I think I see

  205. I did get 18 correct, I still do not know what the tree symbolizes for Conn.

  206. I got 17 out of 22 Missing questions 6, 10, & 11

  207. I got 18 of the 20. The ones I missed were quarters i don’t think I’ve ever seen.

  208. 20 out of 20
It really makes you think about what states they are from, thats for sure

  209. 75% not too bad i guess. i always wait for each new quarter to come out, so i pretty much knew what all of them looked like. but, taking this quiz, they all started running together, and i couldn’t remember what each state quarter lookied like.

  210. 70% or 14 out of 20. Not too bad considering most of the western ones have not yet come out.

  211. My brain is not what it used to be. I thought I did better than I did.

  212. If the pictures on the quarters reveal how most people in the state that live there view their state, good grief, what a joke.

  213. I Really Did Not Do So Well, Try Your Luck.

  214. I did very well on this test….thanks to all the history and geography lessons I had in school back in the fifties and and sixties. We need more emphasis on these areas in our classrooms today. Hey, this was fun!

  215. this was great fun!

  216. I am not smarter than a fifth grader!

  217. Fun Test, I got 17 of 20. If people know their geography they can readily identify many of these coins. For instance the Sunflower on the Kansas coin gives an indication that it is not the Colorado buffaloes. The magnolias fit Missisippi much better then South Carolina, etc.

  218. Thanks, I enjoyed this (Did 15 out of 20–what’s a buffalo doing in Kansas??)
Please put me on your list-CB

  219. Didn’t do so well, 40%. It’s good brain work… and fun too.
    Thanks for the trivia.

  220. I got 11 correct which, while not exactly stellar, is precisely how I thought’d score after completing the quiz and before checking the answers. So…I’m not so bright with 25-cent pieces, but I know myself pretty well!

  221. 60% 12 out of 20 correct. Not bad.

  222. I got 100% been collecting the quarters for my kids.

  223. wow! this was amazing!!!! i think this is pretty ballin!

  224. I missed one. Not bad, been following these since they came out. Some make sense, others don’t, like Kansas…

  225. I Cheated a little with my WASHINGTON QUARTERS State Collection 1999-2003 Volume I, and 2004-2008 Volume II , from H.E. Harris & Co., collectors books. Using them have been fun and informative.

  226. 100% I just got through collecting quarters.

  227. Its alot harder then you think
    I got 15 out of 20

  228. Haven’t seen a majority of the coins, but glad I bettered the average.
    The exercise was worthwhile.
    CW

  229. Thanks for letting me take the test. It was fun. I scoerd 100%

  230. Too Cool! Not as smart as I thought… but then… not as dumb as I thought. 16 out of 20.

  231. 19 out of 20 I scored 95% not to bad!!!!!

  232. I got 9 of them right.

  233. This quiz was lots of fun and educational as well! There ought to be more to keep our minds active.

  234. it was brainer, but I did ok 15 out of 20.

  235. these quarters are so stupid! most of them have nothing to do with the common view of their state!

  236. I thought this was fun. I got 12 out of 20 correct. I guessed a couple of them.

  237. 19 of 20. Love geography & collect the quarters. Learning is a lifelong endeavor.

  238. I loved this quiz. I only got 60% and I collect the coins even.

  239. Fun Test

  240. 100% I am totally surprised..

  241. I loved it. I scored 80% and could kick myself for a couple that I missed!!!

  242. got a 70 % thought it was easy but i guess I need to brush up on my geography

  243. Me too!..I collect quarters but only got 60%.It’s harder than I thought. Good test!

  244. Guess I’ll have to go back and do some studying

  245. I really enjoyed the test and scored 85%. I was disappointed at the ones I missed. I was also disappointed that the average score was just over 50%.

  246. I got 65%, which I didn’t think was too bad. It was a fun test!

  247. This test was very interesting. Makes the mind work.

  248. My score was 60%

  249. wow i got 100%

  250. 60%

  251. This quiz is great! I currently work at a bank and haven’t seen all the quarters yet so this was a lot of fun. 60% was my score and I think that’s pretty good for being “out of the loop”.

  252. I loved it. I can’t believe I’m only 2% (60% my score) smarter than the rest of the world.

  253. This was a good quiz and I got 13 right and 6 wrong hope I didn’t miss any.

BTW your form needs to reflect e-mail address, confusing and I put my residence.

    Do More

  254. that was interesting – had to think and rethink some – and one by process of elimination – saw the correct image later for the state nearly once already considered so had to change the prior selection :-) thanks,

  255. This was great – I loved it!!
Am going to test my grandson Isaac – he is 7 and a coin collector.
    Bless you!

  256. Cool quiz. I got 13 of 20. Have to admit I guessed at a lot of them.

  257. I got 90%, but I’m an army brat so it wasn’t that hard except for the Helen Keller one, and I went for the state where I was born – but not raised.

  258. I got 65%, I don’t consider that one real hard, I should have gotton more right, but i guessing that I went to fast– any excuse is better than none!!!!!

  259. This is cool! I got 18 0f 20 but my kids collect the quarters – I’m going to have them do it as well.

  260. The quarter you showed as North Dakota may or may not be correct, but the Badlands are in South Dakota, not North Dakota. Either you made a mistake or North Dakota stole its neighbor’s most famous landmark.

  261. I enjoyed this quiz. I have all the coins in circulation so far and recognized many of them. I got 15 out of the 20 correct. Thanks for the challenge.

  262. I’m surprised that I knew a few! (60%) At the start,I thought I’d flunk the whole thing; but some were easy to identify by depicted landmarks. Lotsa fun!

  263. excellent quiz. enjoyed it. thank you. i scored 95% because of helping a relative collect the state quarters.

  264. I thought I had done poorly but the class average is 58%, so I did not do so very bad with a 65%.

    This was interesting.

  265. Why does it take so long to see some state’s quarters in my part of the world? I am still missing some from last year.

I could have cheated and consulted my “quarter collection” but I tried to rely on my memory.

Still, some of these were totally unfamiliar, so my cheating would not have helped, a lot!!!

What can we do to distribute the quarters more judiciously? I am missing some…

  266. My score was 55%- liked the quiz.

  267. 12 right

  268. That was fun but I should have collected the quarters and I haven’t. I got 14 out of 20, 70%. When I guessed I tried to figure out the picture which helped to guess!

  269. I got 18 out of 20 You see them all the time you would think you could get them all

  270. Got 20 of 20- Good Quiz

  271. Your site is WONDERFUL!
Hope to see more quarters with different states in the future! I collect these quarters, but obviously my score shows I did not cheat on your quiz. I had to ‘test myself’. Looks like I need to study! Your quiz will definitely encourage me to pay MORE ATTENTION to these beautiful designs and improve my score in the future. Thank you so much for developing this quiz. I shall share it with many others.

  272. Every time I’ve ever visited the Badlands they were in South Dakota! North Dakota quarter was a little confusing. It was fun, tho.

  273. Quiz is a great idea. I enjoyed taking it with a 75 % score. I will send it to my daughter as well.

  274. I got a 55. Not bad considering I don’t collect quarters. Good quiz.

  275. I scored 100% but then I collect coins.
    Good Quiz.

  276. I got a 70% I havent seen all of the quarters yet

  277. I need to study more. I got a 70%, missing 6 of the 20 questions. Guess I haven’t paid close attention. Love this quiz and think it is beneficial for everyone! Thanks!

  278. Well, I just lowered the averate score by getting 3 points lower. I even missed my own state, Virginia!
This is a great quiz! Do the other quarter backs, too! Maybe I can lower the average score even more!

    Barbara Gomez

  279. That was fun. Amazing how little attention to what’s in my pocket.

  280. This was a great educational tool and much enjoyed. I did not score well, but I did learn something. 50% is not what I would have expected to get, but now I can do better (is that cheating?)
    Thanks for the site.

  281. Good job! I only scored 45, but got a really good history lesson when I read the results.

  282. I have tried to remember all the quarters by state every time I posted one in my QUARTER album.

    Walter

  283. I scored 85%. I have been collecting the coins, so I remembered them from doing that.

  284. Thanks. That was fun, although I only got 11 out of 20. Need to go back to school and study American History all over again. Some of them I could make educated guesses about especially when I have visited that state. It would be a wonderful adventure to travel to each state and learn, first hand, a little of their history! I never really paid too much attention to the quarters these days…just spend them too quicky that’s the problem.

  285. 90% – I have not seen the Iowa quarter, so I am wondering if it is in circulation, or perhaps they limited distribution to Iowa…..

  286. This was really challenging

  287. Thanks for the neat little quiz! I scored 95%! I should’ve gotten 100% because I collect ALL bicantennial and state quarters that I receive in change. I have been doing so since DE first came out in ‘99 and have currently saved just under 3K of them. I’m a bit dissapointed that I blew it and missed KY. I mistakenly confused the horse on that coin with a Tennessee Walker. OOOPS!

    John

  288. Enjoyed doing the quiz, I got 90%. It was very interesting. I thought I got them all right, tells you what I know. Thanks.

  289. I got 13 out of 20. Terrible considering that I have the collection.

  290. This coin quiz was fun. I have been collecting the quarters, but, obviously, they have not all been “published” yet. My score was 95%, not too shabby.

  291. This was pretty cool. I scored 15 out of 20. What I liked about it was that I got so many of them right without ever collecting the coins. I would love to see this done with the dollar coins as they become more available.

  292. This was a fun exercise. 90% for me who frequently forgets. Wahoo. from the Badger State…

  293. Fun quiz. 16 out of 20 pretty good for a Texan. My son has the collection. Remember the “D” on the front is for the Denver mint & the “P” for the Pennslyvania mint. We always have trouble finding the “P” here in Texas.

  294. enjoyed the challenge. I need to study a little more!
    Thanks.

  295. Sorry folks I got 100%. I am a collector of this series and have gone through over $1000 of these coins and have them all rolled. I never spend any lose change. How much does $1000 in quarters weigh.

  296. I have over 9000 of the state quarters, and have also never spent one, so 100% wasn’t very difficult and have 1 roll of D & P uncirculated for each state.

  297. I suprised myself and got 95%. For that great achievement I’m going to have a slice of peanut butter & chocolate cheesecake.

  298. I got them all right, but I cheated a little because my husband is collecting sets for our grandsons. Actually, I did know most of them however.

  299. I didn’t miss them all!! :)

  300. 18 of 20, thank you!

  301. Enjoyed the challenge even though it was 50%

  302. I scored a 100%. I collect the Denver and Pennsylvania Mints. Why collect if you don’t pay attention to what the quarter sybolizes.

  303. I scored 60%. Some of them are pretty tricky. Cool website, I really enjoyed it.

    Thanks

  304. my score was 65% and 13 out of 20

  305. My score was 80%, 16 out of 20. That was fun.

  306. 95%, 19 out of 20! Fun little test.

  307. Shows how observant I am. What about you?

  308. I enjoyed the quarter quiz…scored 80%. I and two of my children and wife save the quarters in a board designed for such.

  309. I got 15/20 or 75%. Good quiz.

  310. I got 14 out of 20 right, not too bad for not paying too much attention.

  311. What a great brain teaser!! I’m 70 yrs young and scored a measley 50%. but I loved it.

  312. hey i got 100 not bad for a old man

  313. GOOD BRAIN TWISTER. I SHOULD HAVE DONE BETTER,BUT I’LL TAKE THE 50%. IT WAS A FUN BRAIN EXERCISE.

  314. Fun quiz! I’m not as smart as I hoped! I got some right for the wrong reasons
:( Nothing to be proud of here at 51%!

  315. Great little quiz. I got 15 of the 20 correct 75%. I guess I got a C.

  316. 65%

  317. that was so easy!!!!

  318. This quiz was fun!!!! I scored 80%.

  319. that was hard rite

    100%!
    in your face!!!

  320. Surprise! 55% right, not as good as I expected. I’m still good at making an educated guess…

  321. I got 50%…better than 40%…

  322. I got 100%. I knew them all,no problem. Then again,I’m a coin collector.I’ve collected all the state quarters since 1999 and practically have the designs memorized.I even have the silver proof state quarters from the San Francisco mint.THOSE are the ones to collect…hopefully they’ll be worth some bucks when the program ends next year.AAA+++ Good luck losers!HAH!!

  323. Quarter Backs
Score: 75% (15 out of 20) yea! hooray!

  324. “I suprised myself and got 95%. For that great achievement I’m going to have a slice of peanut butter & chocolate cheesecake.” Oh Rob…I think you were gonna have that cheesecake anyway! Who you tryin’ ta kid – a kid? :-B

  325. mmmmmmmm…above average..75%.Not your average dumb cluck! hehehehe

  326. lots of fun. didnt know as many as i thought i would though. 60% 12 out of 20. maybe i should have paid more attention. hahaha

  327. Got 55% not great but sure enjoyed the test and it was worthwhile. Have a good one = Chuck

  328. great game I scored 80%

  329. wow only 8

  330. One cannot just look at the new Quarters and name them, one has to study them as they come out and remember what each state has that represents them

  331. I really liked this trivia State Quarter Game. It was pretty easy for me. I have memorized almost all of the state quarters. I got a 95% out of a 100%. I would like to see more Quizes like this.

  332. Like many others I collect the quarters and still only got 8 right. Tougher than I thought it would be

  333. I scored 90% which shocked me. My guessing is getting better!!

  334. Got all correct. I have often thought that this would be a great category for Jeopardy!

  335. very cool. score 85%

  336. Score 100%; great quiz, I was surprised I got them all correct.

  337. Very fun & great quiz. I scored 95%. I would enjoy taking another one soon. Will keep my eyes open for the quiz. Thanks.

  338. I should have done better

  339. I got 90 % right, not too bad, though I
had hoped to do better. Great quiz!

  340. Great site. I wish that I got a better score than 85%.

    Thanks.

  341. 55% here. Bah.

  342. I got 90% it was fun, will there be more?

  343. 90%! I sure know my state quarters… :-)

  344. I live in Iowa, and the rendition of the quarter is not that good. I missed because I wasn’t sure what Pennsylvania’s quarter looked like. The details in the print were not very good!

  345. FUN

  346. fun

  347. Just goes to show how one does not observe things that we take for granted. Great one!!

  348. 50% most were done just by guessing. Pretty good considering I am currently unemployed & quarters don’t stay in my pockets for long.

  349. i had 60% was a tough Quiz, but enjoyed it. maybe it would be a great Quiz for kids in History classes.

  350. 55% Tried to really think of the history of the states. Guess I didn’t do such a good job! Was fun.

  351. 85% I like this kind of quiz. thanks!

  352. I had 65% right and I collect these quarters, I think I should look at them more often. It was a fun quiz.

  353. Got a 70! the game was tougher than I thought. Learned alot of history and what the qurters meant was cool as we are collecting them for our daughter.

  354. Well I got 90% right. I can’t believe I missed two, I thought I knew them all.
    Guess not.

  355. Fun, fun. My husband took it with me, and we came up w/score of 60. NOT BAD FOR A COUPLE OLD COOTS!

  356. My Score was 55% 11 out of 20. Good Game

  357. Interesting quiz, Thanks !!!

  358. The quarter test was really challenging and fun. Thanks for putting it together. I only go 40% the first time but by the 3rd time I had 100%. Suggestions for another quiz, how about automobile symbols, like the “H” for Honda, etc.?

  359. I have different coins for numbers 5, 8, and 11. Were there changes?

  360. got 100. But I also work for a bank so its kinda like cheating sorta.

  361. I received 50%. Guess I should brush up on my geography lessons.

  362. I feel pretty good. I scored 85%.

  363. Thanks for such a great ‘brain’ challenge. I got a score of 20 out of 20. But it truly was a challenge. Keep them coming.

  364. Great quiz; love things about history; learned some new things tonight. Very good for school-aged children, and age. I am 46 and enjoyed taking the quiz!! Thanks for offering it.

  365. This was fun I received a score of 65% not yo bad. Thanks

  366. I though that the quiz was fun, and keeps a persons mind active. Thank you.

  367. This is fun I need to brush up on my geography.

  368. I’ve never seen any of these. Didn’t due to bad, some were common sense. 65%

  369. Very interesting. I need to brush up on my state quarters.

  370. oops! Below average.

  371. Only 40% (8 or 20)first time. Glad to say my memory served me well b/c the second time around I got 19 out of 20.

  372. I have not collected any of the coins but identified them from what I knew about their history. Interesting test.I got 15 out of 20

  373. I thought it was an excellent quiz w/ nice little touch of history/ geography emphasis. Well done :)

  374. I have checking quarters and putting each state in an album. I love the history behind the image on each quarter. I got 16 out of 20. Neat idea!

  375. that was great i like quizs like this

  376. Thought the Quarter quiz was cool. I think you should do one for automobiles like the Ram symbol or the chevy bow tie, and make a quiz. Not many people will know what the Maybach symbol looks like

  377. I got 85%

  378. this was fun…I got 85% which wasn’t bad for racing thru

  379. Pretty cool quiz. I don’t want to brag, but got 19 out of 20, missed only the first one

  380. 20 out of 20

  381. Oops I blew it!

  382. 40%. Pretty good considering I have only seem a few of the coins and have paid no attention to them. Guessed at all.

  383. I thought I knew a lot more or these than I do. Very interesting.

  384. WOW!!! I got 100%. Although some of the coins took a while to get, most of them were simple just by looking at them and associating them with the state. The others soon came to me as I thought about the historical backgrounds of the two state choices. I’d like to thank all my history teachers of the distant past that made us learn about the states of this country.

  385. 50%, Not good but not too bad either

  386. 55%. Not so good. Feel especially bad about Iowa and Grant Wood. Should have know that. Also should have known that no fish that look like that occur in Minnesota. Had to be Washington.

  387. Interesting. I got 11 correct!

  388. Great test of knowledge!! My score was 65%, 13 correct answer out of the 20! Not bad at all.

  389. I got 18 of 20, to my surprise. I guess it helped that I enjoy history!

This was fun and made me realize how I don’t really study the backs of the quarters, and I collect them!

    Thanks!

  390. I enjoyed testing my knowledge on the statehood quarters. I didn’t study them either, and I also am a collector! I scored 17 out of 20. Thank you for a great test! I look forward to seeing a similar test on the Presidential dollar coins.

  391. Please send 20 more.
    This was fun.
    Thanks,

  392. I love this. Am forwarding it on to my 13-yr-old grandson!

  393. excellent.
    Even though I scored 50%.

  394. WooHoo, 20 out of 20 !!

  395. I did not even realize how many quarters I have not seen yet.

Good Quiz! I got 75% (15 out of 20 right)

  396. I love it!! I got 18 out of the 20. I was pleased with myself. Lots of fun…I will pass it on. Thanks

  397. I surprised my self. My score was 20

  398. I surprised myself, I got 100%
20 of 20. guess thats good for a granny
    83yrs. old

  399. I passed with a 95%, I loved it, I love to scrapbook and have a special page for every quarter that has come out so far, lots of history and a great keepsake. This was neat.

  400. 18 outta 20, 80% Not To Bad. I should have done better, considering I’m a collector. Oh Well! It was fun! Thanks! Don’t forget ta have that fun!

  401. 10 out of 20 50%, I thought I knew the quarters better then I do. I will have to start looking at them better and studing them also. Enjoyed this quiz! Thanks!

  402. Ewwww, 50%, that was fun! thanks

  403. I scored a 75%

  404. I got 70% (14 out of 20), but really had to think about it. Wasn’t all that easy, but was very fun. I collect the quarters for my 2 grandchildren. Thanks

  405. This was a very interesting quiz as well as informative. I didn’t realize how many coins were out there that I haven’t seen. This would be something useful to have children take as a brain teaser in school.

  406. that was tough!
    shelly

  407. Score: 90% (18 out of 20)
    Great educational tool

  408. Thanks — that was fun.

  409. I’ve been collecting state quarters since they started coming out. Matching the back of the quarter to the state is one thing I definately do know.
You almost had me on the North/South Dakota Quarter. I have to admit that I guessed at that one.
Thanks for the quiz. It was forwarded to me by a friend and I sincerely enjoyed it.

  410. Great, I really enjoyed it. Beat my big brother with my 90 to his 65!

Now it goes to the kids.

    Thanks

  411. 70%. Missed some I should have known.

  412. 70% – Should have done better – I am collecting one from each mint also!

  413. This was fun, I loved it, I positively got WV, my state, let’s do some more.
    Only got .45.

  414. I surprised myself, despite the fact that I’m sometimes called “Lucy” after ditzy Lucille Ball, I scored a perfect 100%. I guess I’m sharper than these nitwits think! I sent it to them, and one of the guys scored 35%, another scored 50%. And they think I’m Lucy! Bring on some more…

  415. I scored 100%,I am collecting several sets for my grands and thats why I knew them,it made me feel really smart.I want to try other quizes.

  416. hey for me, 75% is good. some I should have gone with my first instinct..
    good luck to others

  417. Only managed 50%. Have garnered all
quarters thru 2006 from both Denver
and Philadelphia mints. Have the 4
issued for 2007, but Denver mint only.

  418. 75% is a good start for a girl who is collecting states not quarters. Don’t forget to turn out the vote. It’s an American Revolution. In God We Trust and He believes in You.

  419. I got 13 out of 20 correct. Some of the quarters had sites I recognized, the others I guessed, and incorrectly at that.

  420. This was great, even though I did lousy!

  421. I was very surprised to score 95%! I have been saving the quarters for my grandsons since they were first issued, but I still had to guess at several! It was a lot of fun to do, and I will send it on to others.

  422. This was great. I wish I knew a SS teachers to send it to. 70% We, it is above average, but failing!

  423. 12/20 – 60%, a TAD above ‘average’, but 60% is failing in my book. :-) I haven’t saved any of these, so had to rely on my 71 year old brain to get me through it. Thanks, it was fun!!

  424. That was fun !! i didn’t so great but I learned some things and you get to see whats new.

  425. That was fun. Scored 55%.

  426. i scored 80%

  427. I got 70%…

  428. I got 75%

  429. 75%

  430. 70% not too bad though I am ashamed I missed the last (first) quarter….Paul Revere…

  431. Darn, I got 17 out of 20. 85%. Oh well, it was fun.

  432. Got an 80%, It was harder than I thought, didn’t know the newer ones!

  433. I thought that I would get at least half of of the symbols about American history at least half correct, but my answers were only 30% correct. I think you miscalculated!

  434. I have several collections of quarters, although some almost stumped me. This would be a wonderful tool for the children to learn how and why each quarter’s symbol was chosen, thanks for the fun.

  435. Great fun!

I scored 100% – tough though, I went back several times to change an answer. A great game for a party.

    Thanks

  436. 20 out of 20!!! Yay!!!! :) This is really fun. I think I’ll send this to my friends.

  437. Scored 80% (16 out of 20). Not bad considering I haven’t seen any of the newer quarters. Keep ‘em coming!

  438. That was neat

  439. Well, I got 70% – had to guess at some -and thought I knew some of the ones I got wrong…ecccch! It was fun and interesting to try to figure them out. Keep em coming…

  440. Always knew I was lousy at this kind of question, I have a hard time with geography. I should have paid more attention in school. Maybe I’ll go back and sit in on some grade school classes. It was fun to try this anyway.

  441. I’m ashamed to admit that I only answered 14 correctly. Apparently, I need to read an American History book.

    Thanks for the quiz,
    -Bill

  442. Enjoyed the quiz. Got 75%, pretty good for an old girl. Thanks.

  443. Get a life!!!

  444. Hi,
Didn’t know about your website; thanks for doing this. I’m going to send to my grandchildren to help them learn things they may not in school!! I scored 65% – not as good as I should have.

  445. Great fun and what a challenge! Thanks

  446. This was fun and I surprised myself. My score was 70%. They should do this is schools.

  447. This quiz was great to take and also fun to do. My score was 90% with 18 correct out of 20! I work in my hometown bank and also have a couple collections of my own of the state quarters, so I was very familiar with them.

  448. thanks for the challenge 65% not too bad for an australian

  449. I enjoyed this, and really surprised myself with 100%. What a great tool for kids and adults. Thanks for the history lesson.

  450. this was fun I got 80% 16 out of 20

  451. 15 out of 20

  452. 20 out of 20. It was fun. I’ve been collecting them from the start. Even having my brother in Mass. send me the “P” versions. Only get the “D” versions here in Colorado.

    Jim

  453. Fun way to recall some history about the various states. Good choice of alternatives to trick those of us who haven’t made a study of the coins.
    Keep making education fun.

  454. 65% 13 out of 20

  455. 20 OUT OF 20, I HAD JUST SEEN THE EPISODEON HISTORY CHANNEL “THE STATES” SO I RECOGNIZED LANDMARKS ON THE COINS.

  456. Finally, something else to do with my collection of quarters. I liked finding out some info about them.

  457. Oh, I didn’t know where to post my score before I read the other comments. Mine was 70%. I enjoy looking at them often. Apparently not often enough. But I am in the age group that it can be hard to retain some knowledge of things.

  458. 20 out of 20! This was a lot of fun…we will definitely have our children take the quiz and pass it on to others as well.

  459. Scored 85% but remember taking same quiz a few weeks back – so I should have done better. This was educational and I do have the collection.
    Thanks, Marilyn

  460. I scored 75, and knew 2 of them were wrong and forgot to change! Not bad for an OLD lady.

  461. enjoyed your puzzle

  462. This was fun. I missed one. Some were just lucky guesses because it could have been either state. Each quarter should’ve had something unique to that state or very much more than any other of the states.

    How about another set?

  463. Got em all right but I guess I had an advantage. I have collected all of them so far.
A very good test for ones knowledge of state history.

  464. 100% – I even beat my history prof. I guess collecting helps.

  465. Enjoyed the quiz.. I got a 65%. I’ve collected all of the quarters, even collect for my sis. We have been wondering why there wasn’t more information on some of them. A few could have been either or states.

  466. This was fun! I’m sending it to everyone!

    Keep ‘em coming!

  467. Well I got 75%. 15 out of 20
not bad for a Ozzie, all though I like spending a bit of time in the US of A

  468. 40 o/o Not good, second guessed my self to many times.

  469. 20 out of 20! I guessed at a few…..but guessed correctly. This was fun…I’ll pass it on!

  470. I got 70% correct which was a great surprise to me. I enjoyed it.

  471. My score was 55%. Some people have way more time for paying attention to details such as this than I do.

  472. My score was a 63, which surprised me.
A really neat test of knowledge

  473. I scored 70% 14/20. It was very cool. I thought I knew some and those are the ones I got wrong.

  474. seventy-five percent

  475. Fourteen out of twenty! Not too bad . . . better than I thought I’d do!

  476. 20 out of 20; i guess learning and knowing history (when the schools taught history)pays off.

  477. Great trivia quiz! I’m sharing it with a few other folks to challenge them!

  478. 17 out of 20

  479. 75%; what an education!

  480. I only got 40% which was good for me. I can’t believe I missed Alabama, I’m from there! Great fun but it does show we could stand to pay more attention to US History!

  481. So fun! I got a 55%..but I learned a lot!

  482. I got 19 out of 20 in was fun to see how much I history I really remembered.Like some of the others the one state I missed is MY OWN.

  494. 80% wasn’t bad for most guesses.

  495. This was fun, but I sure feel stupid. We have all the quarters released so far, but I was only sure of two of the answers. It was pure luck I got 13, or 65%.

  496. 90%

  497. What ever?@?@

  498. 45% Thought I’d do better! Considering everyone else on this survey scored higher, I guess it’s good proof that IQ scores aren’t accurate!!!!

  499. WOW!! I really don’t hang on to quarters very long before I’ve spent them. Most of my picks were guesses. I do know my home state’s quarter, but it wasn’t one of the featured coins. I scored 65% and was hoping to find someone who did worst than me. Oh well you can’t be a smarty all the time.

  584. I’ve been to all 50 states and got 80% on this quiz. I missed a couple I should have gotten right, but it is interesting how the coins all pick stuff that we should all know about the state – if only we can make the connection.

  644. I scored 14 correct. Should have done better.

  645. I scored 10/20 which isn’t bad for an 82 year old lady who hasn’t been out in the world for the past five years because of health problems. My computer has become my best friend and sites such as this keeps my mind sharp; however, money collecting was never my long suit.

  646. I got them all but I don’t know how. I was surprised.

  647. Great good fun, requiring some detective work if you’re not a collector, and I’m not. But I loved it nonetheless. A save on Delaware and New Jersey bcs remembering one of my favorite Declaration of Independence signors, Caesar Rodney, and the Delaware River was Battle of Trenton. Wow, thanks for the workout.

  675. 10 – Haven’t paid much attention to them – they disappear too fast.

  677. I got a 90-I collect them but there were a few I had forgotten about. I love the history for each one.

  678. Didn’t do well, got a 70. Haven’t paid much attention to the actual quarters, but I’m a history person. Some of the pictures were hard to decipher. Need to dig up our partial collection and look them over once again.

  679. A very clever quiz. Would be good to use with school children to encourage study of US history.

  680. I scored 100 percent although I did have to use the process of elimination a couple of times – I have collected a roll of each issue from both mints since the beginning – One more year to go and the program will end unless the Mint decides to add the US Territories.

  701. FUN QUIZ!

    I scored 85% – 17 correct/20

    3 wrong – Montana
    Washington
    Connecticut
Never paid much attention to these coins, except for my home state of NJ. I remember thinking that Washington crossing the Delaware was an odd choice
to depict NJ. I got N. Dakota correct because I figured SD will use Mount Rushmore.

  702. Lots of fun. 75%, not bad, but I thought I’d do better, since I can still recite (from 5th grade) all 50 states and capitals. Can’t believe I didn’t get Delaware’s Caesar Rodney!!!

  703. 85% I knew more than I thought i did about the states.

  704. Great learning tool! I’ll admit to my pathetic 55% right… glad it’s not quite the lowest score. Will try to pay more attention, time permitting.

    Thank you. Good quiz!

  705. Fun! got 90%. Fooled by Virginia and Maryland. Thanks!

  708. 80%

  709. 100% Also, collect by chance. Very interesting quiz. TY

  710. 16/20. Not terribly bad, but not as good as I hoped. Since quarters are “big” money for me, I’ll have to look more closely.

  711. 85%; cute test

  712. Loved the challenge. And love the new quarters – my grandsons and I check each coin out and talk about it before putting it in a folder.

  713. This was a fun quiz.

  714. Great fun! I was working in a bank when this series collection started. My husband has 6 collections going. One for each of our 2 children 3 grandchildren and one for us. We enjoy getting each new quarter.

  715. Great, I did a lot better than I thought I would. I will forward to my friends.

  716. 70% Not bad for a person who doesn’t carry change.

  717. I got only 10 correct out of 20. I, too have a collection started, so I could have gotten the folder and looked up some I wasn’t sure about.

  718. I got them all right. I collect the quarters and the first 3 are very hard to find. I have trouble finding the P mint also. This was a fun quiz.

  719. I did okay, but some of the descriptions that were provided with the answers, were not what I thougt while making my selections.

  720. 75%. This was fun. But I have to admit I guessed on alot of them.

  721. I loved this quiz. I knew a few of them only becuase I have been collecting the quarters so,70% was pretty for me.

  722. Great Quiz!! I got 100%..which really surpised me, although I have been collecting them from the very beginning.

  723. Got 90%, it was fun, I’d like more of this type of fun

  724. I got all of them right. I collect
the quarters for myself and my grank-
    children.

  725. Thank you for taking the time to set up such an
    informative, educational and fun quiz.

  726. Wow. I did much worse than I expected to!

  727. I got them all right, but I too collect them for me and my grandchildren. I had to think about a couple of the older issue dates. Was fun. Thank you.

  728. My score – 95
Good Quiz – Enjoyed taking it, had to think about them

  729. Wow, I did a whole lot better than I would have guessed!
It’s too early on a Monday, LOL.

OK no I would not have done any better on Tuesday. 75% 15 out of 20

  730. This was fun made me have to think. Sometimes hard to remember coins you stare at every day! I got a 75%.

  731. I didn’t do as well as most everyone else. I guess I wasn’t paying as much attention as to which state was trying to say what as to getting all the states filled in each year.

  732. Did ok. 75%. I haven’t seen most of these, just guessed.

  733. I scored 95% but that’s misleading. I
collect the quarters as a hobby. But
    thanks for the quiz.

    Big Jim

  734. Thanks! Was interesting. I had an 80% thanks mainly to your multiple-choice format. Most were lucky guesses.

  735. This was fun and interesting to see how many I did remember. I only got 65%, looks like I need to study the coins again. Thank for the education.

  736. Lot’s of fun but only because I made a few educated guesses to score 80%.

  737. 75% – at least I am among the average. Otherwise would be a blow to my ego!

  738. Great education, my 9 year old knew them better than I did and I thoght 75% was good until he took the test. Thank you

  739. I scored 100% and hopefully it is because I have worked on the State Quarters with my late husband and now on my own. What a thrill to see all those correct answers.

  740. It was much more of a challenge then I would have guessed. I have the collection (all that are available, anyway) and I only got a 18 out of 20 on the first go-round. I got a 100% the second time I took it.

  741. 100% first time, however North Dakota was 50/50 guess. Enjoyed the challenge.

  742. I normally don’t pay attention to the backs, except when one is not of the normal old images. Really cool quiz!
I’m going to pay attention more now.
(Makes me want to learn more history.)

  743. That was fun! My score was 75%.

  744. It was fun to try and remember the designs. I got 100%, with some luck.

  745. 19 out of 20

I collected the quarters and checked for the latest releases. I should have made 20 out of 20. Oh well..

    I enjoyed the quiz.

  746. This was emailed to me, for God’s sake, I haven’t saved any of the new ones. It’s been over 1 year since I have paid any attention. I’ve been in another world lately trying to get over losing my home and trying to get enough money together to get my own space again. 9 out of 20 is not bad for someone who have not paid attention to the backs in over a year.

  747. You forgot Wisconsin!

  748. 20 out of 20. Of course I collect them so it was easy. Granted North Dakota/South Dakota gave me pause for a moment until I remembered Mount Rushmore.

  749. Darn this was harder than I thought!!!! I never really pay attention to the details on the back of the quarters I guess…..

  750. I surprised myself by getting 65%.

  751. I really liked this one. I collect the new quarters and it was a challenge to see if I really knew them. I am proud to announce that I scored a perfect score. Thank you.

    Belinda

  752. Apart from the liars and people in denial who have commented I thought the quiz fun. And a score of 16 out of 20 reasonable for someone who doesn’t collect or look at the backs of quarters. A little deductive reasoning can go a long way.

  753. It was harder than I thought. My son collects them and when I get one I always give them to him. Never really paying to much to detail, just the state. 75%

  754. Great Idea. got 100%. Have collected all
that are out for our six grng kids.

  755. 100%, had to correct one when I got toward the bottom, but I am saving the quarters and was familiar with the graphics, thanks, me

  756. This has been fun. I scored 75%. Not too bad !

  757. This wasn’t too hard. We collect all of the state quarters.

  758. This wasn’t too hard. We collect all of the state quarters. I scored 100%

  759. Every one I had to think about I got wrong

  760. I loved it !! I scored 20 out 0f 20 100%

  761. I scored 14 out of 20 (70%). Not bad for guessing.

  762. Fun and educational… go figure!

  763. I scored 20 out of 20 – 100%. That’s very interesting!

  764. I scored 100%–20 out of 20. Seemed pretty easy to me.

  765. That was fun — and surprising — I’m not usually “better than average!”

  766. I SCORED 20 OUT OF 20 ON THE FIRST TRY

  767. Nice quiz. I got 75% – 15 of 20. Some I had right, but second guessed and changed my mind.

  768. Damn, I’m good!

  769. Great site. Great test. I have never looked at any of the new quarters, except my homestate of SD. I registered 60% & that isn’t bad; but, I’m going to take it again tomorrow & see if I learned anything.

  770. I scored 17 out of 20 or 85%. Fun!

  771. I didnt realize I knew so little, but again I dont see to many quarters anymore hat would require having money in my Purse

  772. 100%

  773. 80%

  774. My scorew was 100%, which surprised me.
However, I’ve been collecting them for years and putting 4 different ones in each birthday card I send to my younger grand children and great grandchildren.
There are 29 grandchildren and 37/38 great grand children, but I don’t send the quarters to teenagers or adults; so I handle the quarters several times each month. Iris

  775. 70% and that was guessing most of the time. Some by the picture.

  776. Another exercise in “should have gone with the gut”! Very interesting site, though, with some good info about our history.

  777. Have never looked at thembefore. Mostly guessed. My score was 65% I’ll try another test later.

  778. Excellent quizes

  779. I got 100% It was fun

  780. I only got 9 out of the 20, very good quiz!

  781. Got 80% and all my wrong ones had a buffalo somewhere. Fun though

  782. Got ‘em all – As a nerdy 8-year-old for some reason I memorized the 50 states in this order, so I pay particular attention to these quarters as they come out.

That weird obsession has served me well though as a memory aid…to remember a phone number ending with, say, 2346, I just make some mental connection between Maine (23rd) and Oklahoma (46th) and it stays with me. Yeah, weird, I know…

  783. 75%…but i missed some that i should have known better….oh well…it was just for fun!

  784. 70% tough quizz. Missed some that I should have known.

  785. Just missed Arizona — should have known — it’s not out yet!!

  786. 65% (13/20). I thought I was smarter than that! :o)Crazy how they were so familiar but I just couldn’t place the state. Fun quiz, thanks!

  787. 12 out of 20

  788. 40%

not very good for me. I need to be more up on this.

  789. I got 100! Do I know my quarters or what??

  790. February 5, 1:16 am

    12 out of 20

  791. This was fun. I scored 17 out of 20 and I haven’t had my first cup of joe yet so I’m doing well! Love collecting the quarters with my son and now we’ve moved on to the Presidential Dollars. Why didn’t the treasury do this year’s ago? It makes things so much more interesting for kids…

  792. 100% Didn’t even have to think about it. Of course I collect for my self and my sister. Both mint marks. Fun test.

  793. What fun! I got 60% of them, but missed the one I thought I certainly had right: Mississippi, my home state. The leaves on the flowers didn’t look large enough for magnolia leaves to me, so I thought it must be South Carolina’s quarter!!

  794. I enjoyed taking the quarter quiz and I did have to think about each one as I went but 70% is not so bad is it??
I will do it again maybe next week to see how I do.
    Thanks,
    ES

  795. Though I got 80%, I wish I wouldn’t have thought some of them were trying to trick me, as I would have gotten two more correct- this was fun!

  796. 55%, oh my! But fun.

  797. I got 100%

  798. I received a link to your test and thoroughly enjoyed it. It brings a little history to life. I only got 75%, so I’ll go back and try it again in a week or so to see if I can improve.

  799. I got 87% right. Great history exam.

  800. I got 80% right.

  801. I got 70% (14 out of 20).

  802. Very interesting. I scored 80% Shows 4 states need better logos! (Only kidding)

  803. When I was 13, I took the money I had saved by recycling aluminum cans and newspapers and used it for a trip to the 48 continental states. I planned it down to the penny and took all of my summer vacation to make it happen Having been from California and studying American History, I realized I had seen very little of the country I was born in… I’ve been to most of the places symbolized on the coins and this test brought back a lot of great memories… As I have been living in Japan for the last 10 plus years…( I have visited all 47 prefectures in Japan too, I know more about this country than most Japanese people do) I feel pretty good about cruising on this test…(20/20) America the Beautiful… Take some time to really check it out… I do everytime I go back… Like George Carlin, I am a Bad American… I love my country…

  804. It was a fun quiz although I didn’t do very well.
    Thank you

  805. guess I need to brush up :(

  806. I really enjoyed this quiz even though I did terrible. It is much harder than one would.

    Thank you

  807. I got 15 of the 20.
It was fun and surprising how little you pay attention to what you spend.

  808. I got a perfect score. It was fun and relatively easy for me because I’m a coin collector.

  809. I got 14/20. fun quiz!

  810. I had to do a lot of guessing because I never look at these coins.
I surprised myself that I could figure out some of these coins without guessing

  811. I got 13 right you really have to look for geographical features.I liked i ll pass it on.

  812. Got 70%, should be higher. this is a good tool for kids to get into.

  813. What fun. I got 70%! Sent it on to others. Thanks

  814. my score 75%

  815. i am dumb ass.

  816. 100%. (Thank God i didn’t guess Florida.)

  817. I got them all because I have a state quarter collection but am having trouble finding a Calif. D minted one.

  818. I have been saving the quarters , ergo , not that difficult
    I was 75% ( 15 out of 20 )

  819. I have collected all of the coins to date but I realized that I hadn’t been too observant for the long term.

  820. WOW! 50%…half right??? Hmmmm??? At least I got my home state right!!! :)

  821. That was fun!

  822. 70% (14 correct) That was fun!

  823. Lots of fun. I’ll try the Presidents at another time. Got 13 correct.

  824. Great Challenge

  825. Fun! I only got 12 right — guess I’ll start looking at quarters more closely!

  826. I did very well considering I haven’t collected these state quarters. My interest in history helped me formulate my
guesses. I got 15 out of 20 right.

  827. Got only 8 right and was guessing on
    these.

  828. I got 13 right. Tough.

  829. I got 90% 18/20, not bad since I only spend them and not bother to look at the back! :)

  830. wow, that was kinda tough…i got half right, guess i should look at those quarters in my purse before i spend them! I got my home state (WV) right but missed where i live now-Maryland. some i was sure about but most i guessed. good luck and have fun!

  831. 14 out of 20 not bad since some were hard to see or were not the most known info about a State. Fun! Just discovered Mental Floss’ magazine which is fun also.

  832. I knew all of the quarters as I am collecting 28 sets for myself, my kids,
    grandkids and great grandkids.
    Linda Miller

  833. Cool !

  834. The image on question 15 looks like the exact image of the bridge over the Snake River to Twin Falls and is easily confused.

  835. 80% – Not too shabby!

  836. This was fun but I’m not to educated on the quarters. I think my grandson could get them all. I will send this to his mom and have her check.

  837. I really enjoyed these, the presidents were fun, thanks

  838. This was alot of fun, wish I could have done better but oh well.

  839. what a lot of fun

  840. Wow that was pretty cool. I got a 12

  841. Easy and fun!

  842. Neat quiz, I talked myself out of a couple of them.

  843. Thanks for the fun. I scored 13.

  844. Well, I missed 6 out of 20, not great but not bad. You really stumped me with the Idaho-West Virginia one. We have the Perrine Bridge here in Twin Falls that looks like the New River Gorge Bridge depicted on the WV quarter.

  845. A fun test, but I’m upset with myself for not getting the “Old Man Of The Mountain” after having seen him in 2001. By the way, that’s not the only one I got wrong!

  846. I scored 16–regretted a couple right away. It’s a really good quiz for seeing how observant you are. Thanks!

  847. this was fun and interesting. I only missed 2. I amazed myself!!!

  848. this quiz was very interesting.i didnt really think i paid that much attn to them.i surprised myself. 16 out of 20 aint bad.

  849. i collect the quarters myself but i rememberd alot of places because i have been there. i drive an 18 wheeler across the country. i surprised myself that i got 16 out of 20. i think thats pretty good. it was interesting and kinda fun.

  850. that was fun. got 15 right.

  851. fun quiz. I got 2 wrong, North Dakota/South Dakota, its a toss up. And Virginia–should have known that one.

  852. Good for 18 of 29 – blew it on Maryland and Connecticut. Guessed right most of the time!

  853. This was a lot of fun! You handle these quarters every day, yet it was a little hard to figure out which one was which!
    Thanks!

  854. 15 out of 20 isn’t too bad! Some are quarters that haven’t even circulated yet! It was a fun game to do & thanks for the submission.

  855. …I only got 8 out of 20 right; guess I need to pay more attention to coins!
It was a fun quiz though, so will send it on to others on my contact list.

    ~ Flora ~

  856. this was a good test thanks

  857. I only got 12 right. I just rolled a lot of quarters this week, I should have done better

  858. Great quiz…I have always loved American History. Will forward this on to my friends!

  859. I got 13 out of 20. Wished I could have done better

  860. Whoa, I got 100%. That was a fun one!

  861. 19 correct….Can’t believe I missed on Montana as I spend time fishing there each summer.

  862. I only got 9. was lots of fun!!

  863. I can’t believe it !I scored 70% ! This was a lot of fun and from my gut !

  864. 70% ~ But many were guesses! And I collect the quarters, I had thought I could do better than that! Great challenge!

  865. 55% was my score. I am not sure the states picked the right pictures to identify their states. There sure are alot of buffalos!

  866. 100%

    Fun!

  867. I scored 100%

  868. A great test. I got 20 out of 20.

  869. I got 16 correct. I think this is a great quiz. Thanks for thinking of it!

  870. Cool

  871. this is great fun. I’ve never seen most of them and still scored 75% correct.

  872. loved the test and i got 20 outta 20. yea!!!!!!!

  873. 19 out of 20, tripped up on the Dakotas.

  874. this was kinda hard!

  875. I loved this quiz. I received 60% – 12 out of 20. I’d love to receive more. Thank you
    Joan Sauer

  876. 75% -!!

Could I claim dyslexia instead of, say, Delaware?

    Dang.

  877. WOW, need to be more observant!

  878. I liked History in school back in 1955 but I guess I need to go back to History lessons. Very good test.

  879. I got 90% – It was hard

  880. I got 100%, but some of them made me thnk twice before I answered. Good fun!

  881. Amazing how most of us do not pay attention to things that are in front of us each day.

  882. Very well constructed and looks like I need to study my states better.

  883. Nice quiz, enjoyed it very much. 100% for my efforts.

  884. GOOD ENJOYED

  885. I’m a coin collector and I’m upset with myself at the ones I got wrong. I got 17 correct.

  886. I enjoy answering the quarter back quiz.
    Thank you.

  887. Being a coin collector, I found this to be pretty cool. But, I missed one. Nebraska. For the life of me I don’t know why I got stumped on that one. Hope to see more quizes like this.

  888. 65% – not bad for an expat in NewZealand

  889. I will admit, I felt sort of cheated by the North Dakota/ South Dakota one.

  890. I got 19 right. Couldn’t decided if it was North or South Dakota. I chose the wrong one :-)

  891. what a great quiz. I am collecting but tried quiz from memory. 20 out of 20 for 100%!! surprised myself.

  892. That was fun! I scored 12 out of 20. I’m not collecting so I haven’t really seen most of these.

  893. As a collector it was fun.

  894. Super quiz. I scored 100%, but I am an avid quarter collector.

  895. I got 80%, Very good quiz!

  896. It was fun and educational

  897. Got 95% (19 out of 20) — must be a quarter geek . . .

  898. 17 out of 20

  899. Hi from Germany.

    I love these games.

    take care,
    Marco

  900. What Fun! Great for the old Noodle!
Speking of …any trivia on where phrases come from?

  901. ARE THESE STATE QUARTERS FINAL DESIGNS???

  902. I don’t half what I should at this stage of my life–phewey

  903. I need to learn more

  904. I scored 90% – because I collected these. I was too lazy to correct #1 when I saw #16 or I woulda got 95!
it’s amazing how much you rely on the words to I.D. the state. good quiz

  905. I scored 100%; collecting all the quarters for our grandchildren has helped me learn much about our states.

  906. My score: 18/20

  907. 95% Dakota got me!

  908. 19 of 20, Dakota got me too

  909. I know this quiz was created a few years ago, but I may have spotted an error (and didn’t feel like reading through all the comments to see if it was spotted before): For the Maine quarter, I believe it is “Pemaquid” lighthouse, and not “Permaquid”. Otherwise, fun quiz.

  910. Yay! I got them all right! How in the world did I do that, since I seem to spend quarters as soon as they get thrown in my purse.

  911. Okay, so this Limey scored 70% I think that’s pretty good for an immigrant! *L*

  912. Do you know what kind of horse is on the Delaware coin? — Wait for it — A Quarter Horse!!! Ha!

  913. I got 13, but it was fun

  914. Neat quiz

  915. Who just got 100% that would be me

  916. 20 out of 20
