When I was 19, I think I was lucky the blade on my old mower was dull. The faulty mower was frustrating me and I absentmindedly stuck my index and middle finger under there while it was running. I didn’t lose any fingers but it took all of the skin off the pads of the fingers. It took more than a month to heal and sensation of touch took about three years to fully return. I think I almost passed out, not from the injury but because I was in shock for doing something so dumb.
