They’re just trying to escape that awful habitat. Videos like this disturb me; it just goes to show that animals aren’t toys for us to put on display. They need their freedom like every other living creature on this planet.
While I’d be inclined to agree with you Brandi, that’s a really naieve way of looking at it. While it would be wonderful if all animals could run and frolic in the wild with their happy little forest friends, the sad news is that we are destroying habitats and poaching many of them toward extinction. If you want to keep the giant pandas out of the zoos, the best thing to do is nothing. They’ll go extinct all by themselves at this point.
I like how after the escapee gets out, the other Panda is all looking at everybody like, “What? I didn’t give him a boost. You thought I gave him a boost? No way. I’m innocent in this whole thing.”
That’s panda cub TaiShan and his mom MeiXiang at the National Zoo in Washington DC. This has actually been on youtube for a while, the cub has been seperated from him mom for a few months now.
Is this video real or doctored? What zoo is this?

I feel sorry for the panda that was left behind. I looked kinda lonely after its buddy left.

Anthropomorphizing animal needs is a passive form of abuse in its own right.

I would like to know what’s on the other side of the window. Probably just a really big cuisinart.
