I was also 4 when the Baby Jessica incident happened, and I remember the story quite clearly. They made a for-TV movie based on the story, and according to the script she was playing “hide and seek” with some older kids in the backyard. The well had a cover on it, but one of the older kids lifted the cover on it and “hid” her in there. Apparently they were afraid of getting in trouble and told the mom that she fell in.

Melissa, I totally miss that Rags to Riches show. It was awesome. It also helped that one of the cute ones was about my age at the time. Unlike Hayley Mills, who broke my young heart when I found out that Parent Trap and Pollyanna were made back in the 60s. *sigh* And don’t even get me started on the whole “she wasn’t real twins, just one girl playing both roles.” But Rags to Riches. Man, that takes me back.

The story about the jewish boy being brought food by a girl on the outside was made into a movie “The boy in the striped pajamas” and a children’s book titled “Angel Girl”. The author and main character later admitted that he made the story up.

Do you really want to know how baby jessica is doing? Look here up on bad neighbor websites, and see what her neighbors think of her….I live in Modalnd, and was going to comment on my own idiot neighbor, and then saw the posts about Jessica…she even lives on the ‘bad’ side of town.

What ever happened to that poor kid that was adopted and then returned to his mother when he was young. I think the mother’s name was Mary Beth Whitehead….that’s the only name I remember. But I sure do remember the little boy screaming and holding his family as he was torn away from them and put into a car!!

Of course it is the same girl…they get to beat their women in Afghanistan….her face reflects her life…you know, the religion of peace and all.
