I didn't know about the documentary, but the soap factory is here in Escondido, California; I drive past it twice a day, to and from work.

The herbal reek from the place is often eye-watering.

The Sundance channel was showing the documentary a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if it's still showing. Well worth the $14.50, I'd say.

I actually caught half of the documentary on cable a few weeks ago. I think it was sundance or a similar channel. The whole story is very interesting and yeah, the family that runs things now are very benevolent and very interesting. Been using this stuff for years and love it.

Haven't seen it yet, but there's a free interview with the documentary maker you can listen to on NPR's Fair Game website--search by "Bronner" and you'll find it.
