  1. I did horribly, but I have a question. Frank Capra used a new technique for snow in Its a Wonderful Life, but what was the new technique?

  2. Capra used foamite, a fire-fighting chemical, and mixed it with soap and water. The mixture was then put through a fan. He created the mixture because the old technique was too loud and required dialogue to be redubbed.

  3. Capra made a mixture of foamite, a fire-fighting chemical, soap and water and put it through a fan. He created this new technique because the old one was too loud and required dialogue to be dubbed in later.

  4. 50%! I thought I was so much smarter, but I was smacked down…this was a great quiz…!!

  5. I only got 50% as well…
I love this quiz. One technique used for snow (in Dark Victory with Bette Davis) was flakes of lead paint…or so I’ve heard.

  6. Tricky! I misread the last question — I was thinking Aardman’s: “Chicken Run” instead of “Chicken Little.” Of course Ginger, Red and the entire egg farm were stop-motion.
Not too hot otherwise: I got 70%.

  7. 40%

    This one kicked my tail.

  8. I tried it earlier and only got 60%, but chose not to share my embarrassment at the time. Thanks to all for joining the humility-fest!

  9. 60%

  10. 60% here too. Guess that’s not bad considering the average of 44%.

I know I picked Chicken Little on that last question, but it still counted it wrong. Where do I register a complaint?
