Alcohol is alwyas aborbed directly into the bloodstream from the stomach and the GatorAde makes that happen even more quickly. Not so much a catalytic effect as a carrier one. Guaranteed to get the sorority girls dancing on the tables, although I wouldn't know this from personal observation, only anecdotal data. My college days predated GatorAde by quite a bit. Downside? I am told it produces AFWUL hangovers! GatorAde makes a wonderful mixer – 3 parts GA to one part Everclear.
