So, how’s your Monday treating you? Well, it’s about to get a bit more surreal. Prepare yourself for Terry Gilliam’s 1968 directorial debut: Storytime. Gilliam later became known for his work with Monty Python, of which he was the only American member.

Storytime is presented in three parts: the tale of a cheerful cockroach named Don, the surprising truth about Albert Einstein’s hands (no, not that Albert Einstein), and finally the best Christmas card ever. You can see how this style led directly to the animated Monty Python cartoons which made Gilliam famous (of course, now he’s best known for films like Brazil and Twelve Monkeys).
