As to the argument of wether ninjas or pirates are cooler, the answer is pirates. My logic for this is based on honesty. A ninja is sneaky and under cover. One never knows who is a ninja. A pirate, on the other hand, is honest and open. When you see a pirate you who and what he is.
So, tie that scurvey dog to the yardarm and keel haul the bloke, the plank's to good ferim!!

I have always been totally grossed out by toilet seat covers. I mean, how much....grossness....is on that thing. Don't tell me that everyone who has one takes it off every couple of days and washes it. I will never sit on a toilet that has one of those.

Arrr! That be a good post.

I was curious as to the origins of the skull and cross-bones design, so in lieu of working I did a little research. Rather than bore everyone with a report on my findings, I'll just provide a link to my sources:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jolly_Roger
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skull_and_cross_bones

The first article in particular has an interesting set of various pirate flags toward the end of the text, and is more specific to this post. The second traces the origins of the generic skull/cross-bones motif.

I am located at the US Embassy in Baghdad. Today was designated Talk like a Pirate Day by whoever arranges our MWR (Morale, Welfare and Relaxation) events.

I had no idea it was a real holiday of sorts. I thought it was merely a really bored KBR worker.
