  1. A great movie that sheds light on the effects of kicking out illegal immigrants is “A Day Without Mexicans” The acting is bad and cheesy, but the information is rather enlightening.

    “By that standard, the age of consent should be 16. But competence isn’t just cognitive. It’s emotional, too. Steinberg reports that on tests of psychosocial maturity, kids are much slower to develop. From ages 10 to 21, only one of every four young people scores at an average adult level. By ages 22 to 25, one in three reaches that level. By ages 26 to 30, it’s up to two in three.”

    Wait, so 66% young adults from 26 to 30 have the emotional maturity of the average adult?

    Either someone is making these statistics up as he goes along, or people LOSE emotional maturity at age 30. By an average of 16%.

  3. Cathy, the math in that study confused me, but I assumed it was just me. They should have explained it better. The emotional maturity of an average adult really means nothing, since there are few “average adults”, and even those few change over time.
