I love Calvin and Hobbes. I get sad whenever I remember there will never be any new ones. :-(

Ah, Nomic. I've been involved in a few great Nomic games. The best Nomic happens when another medium is mixed with it. My favorite two experiences with the game were Nominopoly (Nomic with a Monopoly set) and Perlnomic (Nomic as a set of Perl scripts; there was a great research paper on the topic but I don't have the link anymore). There are some great "Nomic-like" games such as Mao, Eleusius, and Zendo where rules are created and not discussed until either discovered or encountered to disastrous effect.

I used to play Calvinball with my best friend. It was wild. We made masks and flags and got out a croquet set and then...we wreaked havoc.

Wonderful. Deadly. Havoc.
