Just like Dusty, It said I was nearing the obese range. If you saw me you’d think that was ridiculous. I have stocky Italian ancestry. I am literally “big boned.”

The BMI always makes me laugh. As a broad generalization for the human population it is pretty acurate. However, it doesn’t take into account people with different body types. My BMI is 30 (5’11″ 225lbs) but nobody would characterize me as obese. I’m stocky and a little overweight, but I have very broad shoulders and am pretty muscular.

When you devise a calculation to make broad generalizations about the population, you get broad generalizations. The problem is when BMI is used on an individual basis. Usually to sell diet products.

Oh my God!
Those women that are overweight look totally normal/healthy to me.
I fear to know what I’m considered!

And Moxie the “obese” cat’s photo had me cracking up! Moxie is not fat…just fluffy!!!!
