MD missed a marketing opportunity to try Hamburglar across a series of commercials. Like Law and Order across 30 second spots. Hamburglar was one of my favorite product-promoting characters growing up. Second to Booberry. When Hamburglar stopped showing up in commercials I missed him and in protest began my vegan lifestyle. This call was so ridiculous that there's been speculation over its veracity, but the PD has confirmed it was an actual call. I used to know some dispatchers who say people really do call in for the most random, non-emergency stuff--I guess the branding of 311 and such takes time...
