It’s a fun premise, seems well done–I can’t wait for the book to arrive from Amazon.com.

I don’t look for literature of this type to unlock the secrets of the universe. A chuckle or two with a non-pedantic shot of human interest will do nicely, thank you.

There IS debate on the validity of Darwin’s THEORY of Evolution… It is a theory, one of many on how human beings came to exist. Right now it is a widely accepted theory, that does not mean that people don’t discuss it, or debate the tenets of said theory. Just because I choose not to believe in a THEORY does not mean that I am an uneducated or stupid individual. I am bilingual, graduated Magna Cum Laude, have lived in 4 countries on 3 continents, have an IQ of 133, have studied and examined the theory of evolution, and come to the conclusion that I disagree with the major tenets of the theory. (I am in no way a scientist, but I can read and research information for myself.)
I take some offense to the way you attacked an entire group of individuals for their beliefs. I am a Christian, but quite frankly, it isn’t just the Christian right (I’m not a Republican by the way) that disagrees with evolution, there are many scientists, people of other faiths, and others who don’t agree with Darwin’s evolutionary theory. I don’t attack your belief system, I’d appreciate it if you didn’t attack mine. You can disagree with someone without belittling them.
One of the reasons that I like this site so much is that people don’t make negative, derogatory comments in the blog. It’s refreshing to see, and I hope that this site will continue to be a place where intelligent, thoughtful, and positive interaction can take place.

Mr. Bentley,
I appreciate your ferocious response, and hope you understand that my intent is to do the research on the (dead) individuals, and allow them to speak for themselves, leaving the rest of us to decide for ourselves what we believe.

As for the debate on if Darwin was “right or wrong,” Mr. Darwin also had the theory that males are more evolutionarily advanced than females – so I’m going to pick n’ choose what “evidence” – scientific or otherwise – I accept as fact.

“Right or wrong, Darwin’s greatest accomplishment was to begin the debate and move the concept of evolution into the realm of serious scientific thought.”

There is no genuine debate about whether Darwin was right or wrong, there are those who accept the decades of scientific research and there are those who are either too stupid to understand it or who are so desperate to protect their world view they would argue that gravity is “just a theory” as they leap from a tall building.

I dare you to publish an article with the phrase Christianity “right or wrong” in it. There’s more evidence that silly religion is just a load of nonsense but you probably don’t have the backbone to tackle that either.

So much for being a site for smart people. Or is cowardice a sign if intelligence?

How about you EVOLVE some backbone and stand up to the Christian Taliban. Until then you might as well be an accomplice in dragging the world into a new dark age dictated by Religious tyranny and fear.
