Rosalynn Carter also posed for a photograph with People’s Temple cult leader Jim Jones, so… yeah, bad decisions all around.

Donald Rumsfeld was only chummy with Saddam Hussein because back in the ’80s, we were so pissed off with Iran over the hostage crisis situation that we’d go with anyone who wanted to make them suffer. It was an “enemy of my enemy” situation.

But don’t think any of Obama’s gaffes are going to make a similar list anytime soon. He’s a “chosen one” who’s continually treated with kid glove gentleness. I had to find out through a BBC radio personality that he said that Austrians speak “Austrian” and from another source that he said there were 52 states in the U.S.

He’s not a politician, but Rich Iott was running against Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur in Northwest Ohio, and a photo of him dressed as a Nazi soldier was uncovered just before the election. He is a WWII buff and was part of a reenactment, but still…Google “Iott” and “Nazi” and you’ll see what I mean!

I’m surprised the pic of LBJ holding his bassett hound by the ears wasn’t on the list. In reality, he was just holding up the ears, not the whole dog, but at the time a lot of people tried to make hay out of it.

It also seemed like Reagan was perpetually dogged by photos from Bedtime for Bonzo, even though he wasn’t President at the time they were taken.
